Abdullah Bin Salem Celebrates Achievements At Sharjah Excellence Award 2024 Ceremony
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, recently attended the Sharjah Excellence Award 2024 ceremony. The event took place at Expo Centre Sharjah and was organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During the ceremony, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah honoured winners from various categories, including local businesses, Gulf region organisations, and individuals who have significantly contributed to the economy.
Seventeen businesses and entrepreneurs were recognised for their exceptional achievements this year. In the Sharjah Gulf Excellence Award category, winners included Saudi Electricity Company, Agility Global, and Qatar Islamic Bank. Fair Value from Saudi Arabia received the Sharjah Gulf Localisation Award. Montessori Children's Garden Nursery and Gracia Group were acknowledged in the Sharjah Small and Medium Enterprises Award category.
The Sharjah Entrepreneurship Award was presented to Dr. Sunny Kurian and Hamad Ali Sulaiman Al Shamsi. Hamid Hassan Al Mazmi received an award specifically for individuals with disabilities. In the Sharjah Social Responsibility Award category, winners included the University of Sharjah, the Sharjah Housing Department, and Sharjah Airport. Emirates Refining Company was honoured for adhering to security standards.
Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, delivered a speech highlighting these awards as part of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi's vision. He emphasised that these initiatives aim to build a sustainable economy while fostering a culture of quality and creativity in workplaces.
Al Owais expressed his gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi and H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi for their generous support of the awards. He noted that this backing has made the awards a significant force in promoting outstanding business practices and quality management.
This year's awards saw over 132 entries, marking a 34 percent increase from last year. This rise indicates that more organisations are recognising the importance of quality and innovation in their operations.
In his concluding remarks, Al Owais stressed that the Sharjah Excellence Award continues to assist partners and organisations locally and internationally in adopting best practices for business excellence. His goal is to create an environment that enhances investment opportunities for businesses in both the UAE and Gulf region, ultimately improving their performance.
