Abdulla Al Hamed Engages Rwandan Officials To Strengthen Media Cooperation And Sustainable Development
Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office (NMO) and UAE Media Council, recently visited Rwanda. He engaged with Rwandan ministers and officials to discuss enhancing bilateral ties, focusing on media collaboration and sustainable development opportunities. These discussions aimed at strengthening strategic partnerships and increasing both nations' regional and international influence.
During his visit, Al Hamed met with James Kabarebe, Minister of State for Regional Integration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Their talks centred on potential cooperation across various sectors, highlighting media's role in supporting bilateral relations. Both parties agreed on the importance of media in solidifying partnerships and enhancing their global presence.
Al Hamed also held discussions with Jean-Damascène Bizimana, Minister of National Unity and Civic Engagement. They explored collaboration opportunities related to national identity and community participation. The discussions emphasised media's role as a partner in fostering a cohesive society capable of addressing challenges and shaping the future.
In another meeting, Al Hamed interacted with Dr. Doris Uwicyeza Picard, CEO of the Rwanda Governance Board (RGB); Cleophas Barore, Director-General of Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA); and Yolande Makolo, Government Spokesperson. They discussed developing cooperation in media and public broadcasting while exchanging institutional and technical expertise.
The meetings also covered the upcoming "Bridge" Summit set for December in Abu Dhabi. Discussions highlighted its themes and its role as a platform for international dialogue. The summit is expected to enhance media cooperation and help develop the industry to adapt to global changes.
At the end of his visit, Al Hamed toured Irembo's headquarters, a leading Rwandan company specialising in digital governance solutions. Israel Bimpe, CEO of Irembo, briefed him on their advanced experience in digitising government services. The company focuses on transparency, reducing bureaucracy, supporting a cashless economy, and facilitating citizen access to services.

"Under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE is committed to strengthening its relationships and expanding cooperation with all nations, particularly those in Africa. This commitment stems from the country's firm belief in the importance of international partnership and its role in fostering stability and development," said Al Hamed.
"This visit represents a new step in our fruitful cooperation with Rwanda, opening broader horizons for building joint projects that enhance communities' ability to achieve their aspirations and actively participate in creating a better future for coming generations," he added.
