Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation Joins Lebanon Education Continuity Project To Support Digital Learning

The Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation has become part of a coalition supporting the Lebanon Education Continuity Project. This initiative is led by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) through the Digital School, in collaboration with various partners. The project's initial phase targets 40,000 individuals, focusing on digital education solutions and continued learning in displacement centres across Lebanon.

Aligned with President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's campaign to aid Lebanon, the project spans 2024-2025. On 30th October, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum directed educational support programmes in Lebanon via the Digital School to assist students and the disrupted education sector. The Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation is funding education for 4,500 students aged 13 to 18 through its Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund.

Support for Lebanon's Education Continuity Project

Dr. Waleed Al-Ali, Secretary-General of the Digital School, highlighted the project's progress as part of a broader UAE humanitarian campaign providing relief to Lebanon. The Digital School offers free access to educational content aligned with Lebanon's curriculum, incorporating smart solutions for offline use. Increasing numbers of students in displacement centres and teachers are registering to support this initiative.

Dr. Al-Ali stated, "The Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation's contribution to this project exemplifies the spirit of solidarity and teamwork for which the UAE is renowned, and which has been essential to the success of the country's humanitarian initiatives. We are confident that this partnership will facilitate the return of affected students to their education after the disruption and significantly bolster our efforts to equip them with all necessary resources."

The ‘UAE Stands with Lebanon’ campaign began in early October 2024 under the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council's supervision. It has seen widespread community involvement from diverse nationalities and backgrounds, including Sheikhs, Ministers, dignitaries, and business leaders contributing at collection centres in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Fujairah.

Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair expressed that their involvement reflects a commitment to UAE's humanitarian initiatives. He said, "Our contribution to the Lebanon Education Continuity Project reflects the Foundation's commitment to supporting the UAE's humanitarian and philanthropic initiatives, empowering neighbouring nations to overcome challenges. We believe education is the cornerstone to development, and ensuring its continuity in Lebanon is a crucial first step toward accelerating recovery and restoring normalcy."

MBRGI’s Educational Vision

MBRGI also aims to enlighten Arab youth through programmes promoting reading and knowledge acquisition. These efforts help build a solid foundation of awareness among new generations preparing them for future challenges.

The collaboration between Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation and MBRGI aims at creating lasting positive impacts across Arab regions. Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair noted that joining this programme underscores their mission since 2015: empowering future generations through innovative educational solutions and partnerships.
