Revolutionizing HR: MENA’s Shift Towards Technology Investment by 2025

Dubai is set to host the 11th Annual HR Tech MENA Summit on May 13 & 14, 2025, marking a significant event for professionals in HR and technology. Themed "The Digital Handshake: Blending Tech and Touch," the summit aims to explore the forefront of HR technology innovations within the Middle East and North Africa region. This event is recognized for bringing together leading HR executives, decision-makers, and tech providers from across the GCC, offering a unique platform to discuss the future of HR and workplace culture.

At the heart of the summit's preparation, QNA International conducted a comprehensive survey involving more than 400 HR decision-makers from the region. This survey aimed to shed light on the anticipated future trends within HR. The findings from this survey unveiled some intriguing insights, according to Sidh NC, Director of QnA International. He highlighted, "We are encouraged by the findings of our survey, pleased to see technology being embraced by HR professionals. HR functions as a strategic partner to management, aligning human capital with organizational goals and ensuring the organization can effectively achieve its mission and objectives underscoring the significance of the findings."

MENA Organisations Target HR Technology Investment

The survey pinpointed several key trends that are shaping the future of HR in the MENA region. Notably, 65% of HR professionals expect over half of their decisions to be data-driven by 2025, emphasizing the increasing reliance on analytics. Furthermore, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in HR processes is seen as crucial by 70% of respondents, indicating a move towards smarter, automated systems.

Among the top HR technology trends identified are data analytics and reporting (32%), AI-driven recruitment tools (30%), and platforms that promote employee wellness (21%). These trends underscore the diverse avenues through which technology is revolutionizing HR practices.

The role of technology in supporting nationalization programs is acknowledged by 82% of survey participants, highlighting its significance in regional development efforts. Additionally, a strong inclination towards digital transformation is evident, with 76% of organizations planning to increase their HR technology investments.

In-demand skills for the modern HR professional include data analysis (28%), expertise in AI and machine learning (26%), and change management capabilities (23%). This reflects the evolving skill set required to navigate the digital landscape effectively.

The survey revealed a significant interest in AI-driven tools, with 59% of companies likely to invest in such technologies for recruitment and talent management. Moreover, automation is expected to streamline various HR functions, including payroll processing (27%), recruitment (24%), and performance evaluations (22%).

The push towards a learning culture is also visible, with gamified learning experiences (23%), micro-learning opportunities (19%), and AI-powered personalized learning paths (17%) recognized as valuable methods for professional development.
