Record 70 Million Votes Cast In Globe Soccer Dubai Awards Ahead Of December Ceremony

With ten days still remaining for voting, the Beyond Developments Globe Soccer Dubai Awards have already seen 70 million votes cast. This matches last year's total, indicating high engagement from fans. The event coincides with the 19th Dubai International Sports Conference at Atlantis, The Palm, supported by the Dubai Sports Council, scheduled for December 27.

Polling began two weeks ago and will continue until December 10. Fans worldwide are participating in the voting process. The winners will be decided through a mix of fan votes and evaluations by the Globe Soccer Jury. This jury includes renowned figures such as Marcello Lippi, Francesco Totti, Iker Casillas, and Luis Figo.

Four Premier League players have made it to the shortlist for the Best Men's Player award. Rodri, Cole Palmer, Erling Haaland, and Mohamed Salah are among the 18 contenders after half of the league's initial representatives were eliminated in the first voting round.

Erling Haaland from Manchester City aims to defend his title as Best Men’s Player at this prestigious event. His competition includes clubmate Rodri and Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Júnior, and Jude Bellingham. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi also pose significant challenges.

The Best Forward category features a 10-man shortlist including Haaland again, alongside Phil Foden from Manchester City, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, and Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane. In the Best Midfielder category are Bellingham and Rodri, joined by Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Bayer Leverkusen's Granit Xhaka.

Last year saw participation from over 225 countries and territories with around 70 million votes cast. This year has already matched that number halfway through the voting period as fans eagerly voice their opinions on top players in both men's and women's football.

The awards ceremony promises to be a glamorous affair with top football talents vying for recognition. As anticipation builds, fans continue to engage actively in shaping the outcome of these prestigious accolades.
