21st UAE Critical Care Conference Advocates For Enhanced Professional Readiness In Healthcare

The 21st UAE Critical Care Conference and the Second World Summit of the World Federation of Intensive Care Societies recently concluded in Dubai. Held at the Intercontinental Festival City Hotel, this three-day event attracted over 2,000 medical and nursing professionals. The conference aimed to enhance professional competence in critical care by discussing international practices for handling critical cases.

Prof. Dr. Hussein Al Rahma, Chairman of the Conference, highlighted that participants emphasised ongoing training for healthcare practitioners. "The conference concluded with a set of pivotal recommendations after fruitful discussions and a rich exchange of ideas," he stated. The focus was on developing specialised training programs to keep pace with scientific advancements and improve professional skills.

The event featured 275 speakers, including 130 international experts and 80 local speakers. They delivered 381 lectures and working papers across 77 scientific sessions. Additionally, there were four scientific workshops, four training courses, and six seminars for the industrial sector. This comprehensive agenda aimed to address various challenges in critical care medicine.

Dr. Al Rahma also noted that sustainability is crucial for delivering high-quality medical services efficiently. Recommendations included holding annual workshops and conferences to stay updated with innovations and foster knowledge exchange among specialists. Strengthening cooperation between local, regional, and global health authorities was also advised to improve emergency response.

The conference covered diverse topics such as septicemia, infection control, nephrology, artificial ventilation, anesthesia, cardiology, nutrition, elderly care, and infection surveillance. Participants earned 22.5 credit hours from the Dubai Health Authority for their involvement in these sessions.

Global Participation and Knowledge Sharing

This event marked a significant milestone as it was the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa region and third globally. It underscored the importance of collaboration among healthcare professionals worldwide to tackle emerging challenges in critical care effectively.

Attendees engaged in discussions about key issues like acute kidney injury, respiratory distress syndrome, pain management, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and more. The exchange of ideas aimed to ensure optimal patient care through continuous development in this vital medical field.

The conference's success highlighted the need for ongoing efforts to enhance critical care practices globally. By fostering collaboration and innovation among healthcare professionals, such events contribute significantly to improving patient outcomes in critical situations.
