20th Annual Conference Of Middle East Academy Of Otolaryngology Launches In Dubai With Global Experts

The 20th annual Middle East Academy of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery conference began today at the InterContinental Hotel Dubai. This event coincides with the first International Congress on Eustachian Canal Research and Intervention, marking a unique collaboration in the region. The conference brings together 1,000 experts from 33 countries to discuss advancements in this medical field.

Dr. Moaz Tarabichi, co-chair of the conference and chairman of the organising committee, highlighted the significance of this dual event. Organised by "Info Plus," it serves as a key platform for showcasing recent developments and addressing challenges in otolaryngology. Dr. Moaz noted that this specialty has evolved significantly over recent years, encompassing diverse and intricate cases while integrating clinical and surgical expertise across all age groups.

Middle East Academy Conference Opens in Dubai

Participants will engage in a comprehensive programme featuring presentations, workshops, and networking opportunities designed to enhance their knowledge and practices. The event aims to address disparities in managing Eustachian tube disorders (ETD), promote collaborative research, standardise treatment protocols, and facilitate international knowledge sharing.

Dr. Latifa Al-Makouchi, President of the Twentieth Middle East Academy Conference and Assistant Professor of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology at King Abdulaziz University Hospital, King Saud University in Riyadh, delivered the opening speech. She acknowledged Dr. Moaz Tarabichi's role in transforming this meeting into a global platform for professionals to exchange insights, discuss developments, and build connections that enrich practice and improve patient care.

This year's conference hosts over 150 distinguished speakers from 30 countries, each contributing unique perspectives. Dr. Latifa expressed gratitude to faculty members who travelled from various locations to attend. She also congratulated young otolaryngologists who received travel grants for presenting top papers from 15 countries.

Dr. Latifa encouraged attendees to actively engage with speakers, participate in discussions, learn from one another, and collaborate effectively. She emphasised that this gathering is not just about expertise but also celebrates collective dedication to advancing otolaryngology and head and neck surgery.

Exhibition Highlights

The scientific programme covers a wide array of topics such as diagnostic technologies, advanced surgical techniques, emerging treatments, paediatric ear surgeries, rhinoplasty, head and neck surgery, ear surgery with vestibular balance focus, nose science, sinus studies, audiology sessions, endoscopic nose surgeries, base surgeries, cochlear implants, paediatric otolaryngology courses, plastic surgery sessions along with the "Balance Man" workshop.

A group of distinguished doctors were honoured for their significant contributions to healthcare excellence within their specialties during the opening ceremony's conclusion. Following this recognition ceremony was an exhibition featuring participation from 25 leading companies involved in medicines or medical devices as sponsors supporting this conference.
