UAE Jiu-Jitsu Team Achieves Seven Medals At The 2025 World Championships In Thailand

The UAE jiu-jitsu national under-21 team, supported by Mubadala Investment Company, showcased a commendable performance at the 2025 World Championships in Bangkok, Thailand. The event, which spans from November 12 to 14, saw the team secure seven medals: two golds, three silvers, and two bronzes. This achievement highlights the team's dedication and skill on an international stage.

Amaar Alhosani clinched gold in the under-94kg category, while Rashed Alshehhi triumphed in the 56kg division. Fahad Alhammadi earned a silver medal in the 77kg category. Rashid Alhimany also secured silver in the over-94kg division, with Mohamed Al Shehhi adding another silver in the 56kg category. Faisal Alwahedi took home bronze in the 69 kg category, and Abdulrahman Mohammed achieved bronze in the 62 kg division.

UAE Wins Seven Medals at Ju-Jitsu Worlds

Mubarak Al Menhali, director of the technical department at UAEJJF, expressed pride in the team's achievements. "Today’s results show how well the system for developing jiu-jitsu in the UAE is working. Every success comes from teamwork that starts with the support of families, continues through schools and clubs, and is strengthened by the Federation’s vision to build future champions," he stated.

Gold medallist Rashed Alshehhi shared his thoughts on his victory: "Winning today means more than just getting a medal. It’s a message to all young Emiratis that determination makes the difference. I started in school, where I learnt that jiu-jitsu is more than a sport. It teaches respect, confidence and teamwork. My family has always supported me, and their encouragement helped me give my best."

Upcoming Competitions for UAE Team

The championship will continue on November 13 with competitions for the under-21 women’s division. The UAE team aims to extend its success by adding more medals to its collection during this segment of the event.

This impressive start at the World Championships reflects not only individual talent but also a robust support system within UAE jiu-jitsu circles. As they prepare for upcoming matches, there is optimism for further triumphs.
