12th UAE International Orthopedic Congress Commences In Abu Dhabi With Global Participation

The Emirates Orthopedic Division of the Emirates Medical Association is set to host the 12th UAE International Orthopedic Congress in Abu Dhabi. This event will see participation from over 800 professionals, including consultants, doctors, nurses, and technicians from the UAE, Middle East, and beyond. More than 15 leading companies in medical devices and orthopedic supports will also be present.

Dr. Ali Al Suwaidi, a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon and Conference Chairman, emphasised that this gathering aims to position Abu Dhabi as a regional and global medical hub. The event seeks to enhance medical expertise by developing healthcare services and attracting top doctors. "This has made Abu Dhabi an important centre for organising conferences," he stated.

UAE Orthopedic Congress Starts in Abu Dhabi

The conference will feature 70 speakers from 14 countries, including Europe, Australia, India, and the Middle East. Over three days, attendees can expect 90 scientific lectures along with workshops and seminars focused on the industrial sector. These sessions aim to foster knowledge exchange among experts.

Dr. Ali Al Balushi, Vice President of the Conference and Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon, highlighted this year's main topics. Discussions will cover elbow, hand, nerve developments in orthopedics, upper limb and spine surgery, pelvic and lower limb procedures, pediatric orthopedics, knee arthroplasty, pain management in orthopedics - cartilage and meniscus issues - and biology's role in orthopedics.

Organised by Info Plus with backing from several health authorities like the Department of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Health and Prevention, the conference spans three days. It includes 15 scientific sessions featuring 90 lectures alongside 54 scientific research presentations.

The event also dedicates a session to the industrial sector with participation from 15 renowned international companies specialising in chips, supports, external fixators for bone diseases, and pharmaceutical products. This collaboration aims to advance orthopedic solutions through shared insights.

The congress underscores Abu Dhabi's commitment to advancing healthcare by hosting such significant events that bring together global expertise for improved medical practices.
