International Conference In Dermatology And Aesthetics Launches In Abu Dhabi With Global Experts

The 11th International Conference in Dermatology and Aesthetics (AIDA) commenced in Abu Dhabi, uniting global experts to explore advancements in dermatology, cosmetic surgery, and laser treatments. The event also delves into the integration of artificial intelligence in clinical practice. Supported by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, this three-day gathering features significant participation from regional and international associations.

Dr Khaled Othman, Founder and President of AIDA, emphasised the UAE's dedication to healthcare excellence. He highlighted the country's investment in advanced infrastructure and expertise. "The event is a platform for sharing best practices and emerging research in skin disease management and aesthetic medicine," he stated.

Dermatology and Aesthetics Conference Begins in Abu Dhabi

The conference's first day included lectures on various treatment approaches for conditions like vitiligo, psoriasis, hand eczema, alopecia areata, and atopic dermatitis. Experts also discussed using laser technology for hair loss and acne scar treatments. Additionally, facial contouring methods endorsed by plastic surgery societies were covered.

A workshop dedicated to safe filler injection techniques provided hands-on training for doctors. This non-surgical procedure is used to smooth wrinkles and enhance facial features. The session aimed to equip practitioners with practical skills for this popular cosmetic treatment.

Dr Fatima Hassan Al Marzouqi, Chair of the Scientific Committee, stressed the event's importance as a networking platform. It aims to foster innovation among dermatology professionals. The agenda includes live demonstrations, research presentations, case discussions, expert meetings, and competitions for resident physicians from the GCC.

Dr Meera Al Adawi, Vice President of AIDA and Consultant Dermatologist at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, noted that top-tier experts will share insights shaping the future of dermatology in the region. The conference serves as a hub for knowledge exchange among leading professionals.

Exhibition Showcasing New Technologies

The AIDA Exhibition runs alongside the conference until 4th May. It showcases cutting-edge technologies and medical devices related to dermatology, lasers, and cosmetic treatments. Approximately 25 companies are participating, many introducing their innovations to the region for the first time.

Dr Huda Rajab Ali, Co-Chair of the Scientific Committee and Chair of Dermatology at AHS–SEHA, described the conference as an ideal learning platform. Over 60 experts from both within the UAE and abroad are participating to discuss global treatment protocols.

This year's conference highlights how collaboration can drive progress in dermatology and aesthetics. By bringing together diverse expertise from around the world, it fosters an environment conducive to innovation and learning.
