Kings Lock In Coach Mike Brown With Contract Extension Through 2026-27

The Sacramento Kings and head coach Mike Brown have agreed to a contract extension through the 2026-27 season. According to multiple reports, the deal is valued at $30 million, with Brown's base salary set at $8.5 million annually. He will have the opportunity to earn up to $10 million per year with bonuses.

In his first year with the Kings, Brown led the team to a 48-34 record and its first playoff appearance in 16 years. His efforts earned him the 2022-23 NBA Coach of the Year award. This past season, Sacramento achieved a 46-36 record and secured a victory against Golden State before losing a play-in game for the eighth seed to New Orleans.

Kings Extend Coach Brown to 2027

Mike Brown and Rick Adelman are the only Kings coaches to lead the team to a winning record since the franchise moved to Sacramento in 1985. Brown has an overall coaching record of 441-226, having previously coached Cleveland and the Los Angeles Lakers before joining Sacramento.

Brown's agent, Warren LeGarie, confirmed the new contract details to ESPN. The extension not only secures Brown's position but also includes a significant raise, reflecting his contributions to the team's recent successes.

Brown's leadership has revitalised the Kings, bringing them back into playoff contention after years of struggle. His strategic approach and ability to maximise player potential have been key factors in the team's improved performance.

The Kings' management expressed confidence in Brown's vision for the team, hoping his continued leadership will build on recent achievements and drive further success in upcoming seasons.
