Immanuel Quickley To Stay With Raptors On A Five-Year, $175 Million Deal
The Toronto Raptors have secured guard Immanuel Quickley with a five-year, $175 million contract, as reported by multiple media outlets on Friday. This agreement will become official after the league's transaction moratorium ends on July 6.
Quickley, who was traded alongside RJ Barrett before last season's deadline in a deal that sent OG Anunoby to the New York Knicks, quickly became a key player for Toronto. Initially serving as the Knicks' sixth man, he transitioned to a starting role for the Raptors and averaged 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 6.8 assists in 38 starts.

After the all-star break, Quickley's performance improved significantly. He averaged 21.2 points per game (PPG), 5.7 rebounds (REB), 7.8 assists (AST), and 1.2 steals (STL). His shooting percentages were also notable: 44% from the field (FG), 39% from three-point range (3PT), and 85% from the free-throw line (FT).

The announcement of Quickley's long-term deal follows reports that Scottie Barnes has agreed to a maximum rookie extension with the Raptors for five years and $225 million. With Barnes, Quickley, and Barrett all signed through at least 2027, Toronto is optimistic about building around this young core in future seasons.
Quickley was drafted out of Kentucky in 2020 and has since averaged 13.7 points and 3.5 assists over his career spanning 291 games. Last season, he achieved a career-best shooting percentage of 39.5 percent from beyond the arc.
The Raptors are hopeful that these strategic signings will help them remain competitive in upcoming seasons by leveraging their young talent.
