Celtics Dominate Heat To Enter East Semis; Mavericks Extend Lead Over Clippers

In a commanding display of basketball prowess, the Boston Celtics decisively defeated the Miami Heat with a score of 118-84, propelling them into the Eastern Conference semifinals. Jaylen Brown and Derrick White led the charge, each contributing a substantial 25 points to the victory. This win sets the stage for the Celtics, the top seed, to face off against the victor of the ongoing Cleveland-Orlando series, which currently sees the Cavaliers leading 3-2.

The Celtics showcased a dominant performance from start to finish, never once relinquishing their lead. Sam Hauser and Jayson Tatum also made significant contributions, with Hauser scoring 17 points and Tatum adding 16 points alongside 12 rebounds. This triumph was particularly sweet for the Celtics, serving as a form of redemption after their defeat by Miami in last year's conference finals Game 7.

Celtics, Mavericks Score Playoff Wins

On the other side, Miami's effort was led by Bam Adebayo with 23 points and Tyler Herro adding 15 points. However, their journey in this season's playoffs ended earlier than in previous years, marking their first exit before the conference finals since 2021. The Heat struggled throughout the game, particularly from beyond the arc where they missed 26 of their 29 attempts and were also significantly outrebounded by the Celtics 56-29. Their performance was further hampered by the absence of key players Jimmy Butler, Terry Rozier, and Jaime Jaquez Jr. due to injuries.

In another noteworthy playoff game, Luka Dončić of the Dallas Mavericks delivered an outstanding performance against the Los Angeles Clippers, leading his team to a 123-93 victory. Dončić scored an impressive 35 points, with a remarkable 20 points coming in the second half alone. His efforts were pivotal in extending Dallas's lead and securing a comfortable advantage heading into the final quarter.

The Mavericks demonstrated exceptional teamwork and efficiency, shooting 54 percent from the field and converting nearly 36 percent of their attempts from three-point range. Maxi Kleber and Kyrie Irving also played key roles in this victory, with Kleber hitting five three-pointers and Irving contributing 14 points.

Conversely, the Clippers faced challenges in finding their rhythm, shooting just 37.9 percent from the field and a mere 25.7 percent from three-point range. Despite efforts from Paul George and Ivica Zubac, who each scored 15 points, and a disappointing performance by James Harden who managed only seven points on 2-of-12 shooting, the Clippers could not overcome Dallas's momentum. Russell Westbrook also struggled significantly, missing his first eight shots before finally scoring in the third quarter.

As both teams look ahead to their next games, with Boston preparing for their semifinal matchup and Dallas aiming to close out their series at home in Game 6 against the Clippers, fans are eagerly anticipating more thrilling basketball action in this year's NBA playoffs.
