Over 200,000 Motorsport Fans Flock To Yas Marina Circuit In Record-Breaking Season

Yas Marina Circuit, the crown jewel of motorsport venues in the capital, has once again proven to be a magnet for motorsport enthusiasts from around the globe. Hosting a diverse array of international, regional, and community competitions, the circuit saw close to a quarter of a million fans grace its stands throughout the season. The highlight was undoubtedly the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in November, attracting 170,000 spectators, setting the stage for a season filled with high-speed action and thrilling races.

The season commenced with the Lenovo Gulf 12 Hours, featuring legendary drivers like Valentino Rossi. This endurance race marked the final round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, captivating over a thousand fans with its display of skill and strategy from dawn till dusk. Yas Marina Circuit's commitment to nurturing young talent was evident through Yas Heat Racing's participation in the Formula 4 UAE championship. Drivers such as Keanu Al Azhari, Zack Scoular, and ambassador Rashid Al Dhaheri showcased their burgeoning skills against formidable international competition.

Further fostering local talent, the Sodi World Series (SWS) at YAS Kartzone became a weekly fixture for karting aficionados. Notably, YAS Kartzone was chosen as one of five circuits globally to host the SWS Regional Cup, offering winners a shot at the Sodi World Series International Final in Belgium. Ali Al Beshr, Motorsport Development Executive Director at Yas Marina Circuit, expressed his satisfaction with the season's success, highlighting the platform's role in showcasing local talent on a global stage.

The circuit also became a hub for local racing enthusiasts, with events like the Castrol Edge presents Emirates Drift Championship Fueled by Monster Energy and UAE Rotax Max Challenge drawing over 30,000 spectators. The Yas Super Street Challenge and Yas Roll Race Challenge added to the excitement, underlining Yas Marina Circuit's pivotal role in the regional racing scene.

Additionally, the return of the Formula Regional Middle East Championship and Clio Cup Middle East as part of the Yas Racing Series underscored the circuit's significance in regional motorsport. The Motor Majlis event was another highlight, with over 900 cars on display, attracting an unprecedented number of visitors keen on celebrating automotive culture.
