Yango App Now Integrates Public Transport Services To Boost Dubai's Urban Mobility
Yango Group, a global tech company known for its daily services, has introduced a new public transport feature within its Yango app. This addition aims to enhance urban mobility in Dubai by integrating public transit information with Yango's existing services like ride-hailing, rentals, and delivery.
The new section on the Yango app provides detailed route information, schedules, and estimated travel times for various transport options such as buses and metro. Users can plan their journeys effortlessly within a single platform. By entering their destination, they receive clear guidance throughout their trip, including transfer details and walking distances.

Public Transport Integration
This service enriches Yango's public transport information offering, which is also available in Yango Maps. The navigation app extends Dubai's comfort and ease of living to car, foot, or public transport navigation. The launch coincides with an increase in public transport ridership recorded by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) during Eid Al Adha. Passenger numbers rose from 6.4 million in 2023 to 6.7 million in 2024.
Islam Abdul Karim, General Manager of Yango GCC, stated: "Public transportation in Dubai has seen remarkable development over the years, providing efficient and reliable travel options for residents. Our goal with this new public transport service is to create a seamless transportation experience for users, integrating all necessary travel information into one easy-to-use platform. This initiative underscores our commitment to innovation and our dedication to redefining urban mobility in Dubai."
Sustainable Transportation Goals
The integration aligns with the company's broader vision of supporting sustainable transportation solutions. Yango's partner fleet includes 15% electric vehicles, contributing to the UAE's green mobility goals. These goals aim to reduce energy consumption in the transport sector by 40%, cut carbon emissions by 10 million tonnes by 2050, and increase the share of EVs to 50% of total vehicles on UAE roads by 2050.
Yango plans to expand this service to Abu Dhabi in the future, further enhancing the region's public transport network. This expansion will continue to support the growing preference for public transportation among residents and tourists alike.
