Volvo EX30 Wins Red Dot 'Best Of The Best' For Outstanding Design

The all-electric compact crossover, Volvo EX30, recently won the prestigious Red Dot award: Best of the Best Product Design 2024. Al-Futtaim Trading Enterprises, the authorised dealer of Volvo Cars in the UAE, announced this achievement.

The award recognises excellence in design based on four principles: quality of function, seduction, use, and responsibility. A jury of 39 experts from around the world selected the EX30 with a score of 93/100.

Jim Rowan, CEO at Volvo Cars, stated, "The Volvo EX30 embodies Volvo Cars' design values in a smaller format and is a showcase in premium Scandinavian design where form follows function." He added that it has the lowest carbon footprint of any fully electric Volvo car to date and is designed to be as safe as expected from a Volvo car.

The EX30 offers a driving range of up to 476km. Its battery can be recharged from 10 to 80 per cent in just over 25 minutes. It also features advanced driver-assistance systems like automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and Pilot Assist.

Volvo Cars used natural and recycled materials in the EX30 to meet sustainability targets. The car's interior space is designed with a centralised theme for storage, controls, and screens, creating a flexible space with premium proportions.

The EX30 has already received global recognition for its performance and design. It has won more than 20 major awards since its reveal last summer. These include the Car Design award 2024 by auto&design magazine and The Sun Car of the Year.

Other accolades include World Urban Car from World Car of the Year, Small SUV/Crossover of the Year from the Sunday Times, and Eco Warrior of the Year from Top Gear magazine. These awards highlight its excellence in various aspects.

The fully electric EX30 is now available in the UAE at a starting price of Dh149,900.
