VinFast Auto has unveiled plans to initiate construction of its integrated electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi City, Tamil Nadu, on February 25, 2024. This development marks a pivotal moment in the collaboration between VinFast and the Tamil Nadu State Government, focusing on promoting green transportation solutions in India and the surrounding region. The partnership, which began with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on January 6, 2024, outlines a commitment of USD 500 million for the first phase of the EV plant over the next five years.
