VinFast's Strategic Move Into The Middle East With BAT Dealer Sales Agreement In Oman
VinFast Auto, the Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, has embarked on a new journey in the Middle East by inking a dealer sales agreement with Bahwan Automobiles Trading LLC (BAT) for the Oman market. This collaboration marks VinFast's inaugural venture into the region, underscoring its ambitious global expansion strategy.
As per the agreement, BAT is set to become the official dealer for VinFast in Oman, with plans to establish and operate 13 VinFast stores and service centres between 2024 to 2027. The partnership is poised to kick off with the opening of the first store in mid-2024, followed by the commencement of vehicle sales. Additionally, VinFast and BAT will collaborate to introduce four e-SUV models to the Oman market: VF 6, VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9.

This strategic move was preceded by a Memorandum of Understanding signed during the United Nations Climate Change Conference 2023 (COP 28) held in the UAE. This collaboration not only strengthens VinFast's presence in the Middle East but also emphasizes its commitment to fostering green mobility solutions globally.
Ta Xuan Hien, CEO of VinFast Middle East, highlighted Oman's potential as a burgeoning market for electric vehicles (EVs), driven by the nation’s increasing interest in sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation solutions. "We are confident that this Dealer Sales agreement with BAT, a leading and highly reputable dealer in Oman, will empower VinFast to swiftly establish a presence in the market and provide customers in the country with the most diverse and high-quality selection of electric vehicles available," he stated.
Abdullah Ahmed Suhail Bahwan, Executive Director of Bahwan Automobiles Trading, lauded VinFast's pioneering role in the EV industry and its innovative product lineup. "We firmly believe that this dealer sales agreement will introduce stunning electric vehicle models to the Oman market, contributing to the development of the electric vehicle sector in Oman and enhancing the electric mobility experience for our customers," Bahwan remarked.
The electric vehicle market in Oman is on the brink of significant expansion. Driven by government initiatives to promote the use of electric vehicles, the country aims to combat climate change, reduce carbon emissions, and decrease reliance on fossil fuels. This partnership between VinFast and BAT represents a significant step towards achieving these objectives and fostering a sustainable future.
As VinFast forges ahead with its global expansion, its entry into the Oman market through the collaboration with BAT paves the way for the introduction of innovative EV solutions. Both companies are committed to enriching the electric mobility experience in Oman, contributing to the broader goal of sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation in the Middle East and beyond.
