Scenic E-Tech Electric Clinches Prestigious ‘Car Of The Year’ Title
At the recent ceremony held at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland, the Scenic E-Tech electric emerged as the Car of the Year 2024. The award, representing a significant achievement in the field, underscores Scenic E-Tech electric’s innovative design and capabilities.
The journey to this accolade began last November when Scenic was selected as one of the top seven finalists, competing against renowned models like the BMW 5-series, BYD Seal, Kia EV9, Peugeot E-3008/3008, Toyota C-HR, and Volvo EX30. A panel comprising 59 motoring journalists from 22 different countries ultimately bestowed the trophy to the Scenic, which garnered a total of 329 points. Remarkably, this marks the seventh instance a Renault vehicle has clinched the 'The Car of the Year’ title, joining the ranks of previous winners such as the Renault 16 (1966), Renault 9 (1982), Clio (1991), Scenic (1997), Megane (2003), and Clio (2006).

Fabrice Cambolive, the CEO of Renault, expressed immense pride in receiving the award, emphasizing it as a testament to the company’s commitment to innovation, particularly in terms of environmental sustainability, driving pleasure, and advanced features. The Scenic E-Tech electric, known for its record-breaking range, spaciousness, and cutting-edge tech like the new Solarbay panoramic sunroof and the latest generation OpenR Link system with integrated Google, is poised to strengthen its foothold in the European EV market.
Features That Set It Apart
The Scenic E-Tech electric is a full-electric vehicle that exemplifies versatility and sustainability. Developed on the medium AmpR platform, it boasts zero emissions, showcasing Renault's environmental commitment. The vehicle’s design is both agile and compact, measuring 4.47 m in length and weighing 1,890 kg, making it perfectly suited for the urban landscape. Yet, it does not compromise on range, providing up to 379 miles (WLTP) on a single charge, which makes it ideal for longer journeys as well. Additionally, its spacious interior and array of technological enhancements cater to both comfort and driving pleasure, setting new standards in the electric vehicle segment.
This victory not only highlights the Scenic E-Tech electric’s exceptional qualities but also reaffirms Renault's position as a leader in automotive innovation. The Car of the Year 2024 award serves as a guidepost for future developments in the electric vehicle market, where efficiency, sustainability, and user experience are increasingly paramount.
