Saudi EV Brand Ceer Signs $2.2 Billion Hyundai EDS Supply Contract

In a significant move for the automotive industry in Saudi Arabia, Ceer, the Kingdom's first electric vehicle (EV) brand and original equipment manufacturer (OEM), announced a strategic partnership valued at SAR 8.2 billion ($2.2 billion) with Hyundai Transys. This collaboration marks a pivotal step in Ceer's mission to stimulate the Saudi automotive sector by integrating advanced Electric Vehicle Drive Systems (EDS) into its offerings.

Hyundai Transys is set to supply an innovative EDS solution that diverges from conventional systems, which typically consist of separate motors, inverters, and reduction gears. These traditional components often lead to power loss and spatial limitations within the vehicle. Hyundai Transys's EDS, however, integrates all three components into a single system, facilitating significant improvements in both power efficiency and vehicle design.

The compact, three-in-one EDS system not only reduces the overall size and weight of the vehicle but also enhances its power efficiency. This integration supports a more streamlined design process and improves cost competitiveness, potentially setting new standards in the EV market.
