Kia Debuts Exclusive Camouflage For Its First-Ever Tasman Pickup Truck
Kia has officially unveiled a distinctive camouflage wrap for its much-anticipated Kia Tasman, marking the brand's first foray into the pickup truck segment. Inspired by the rugged charm and adventurous spirit of Tasmania, the island located at the southern tip of Australia, the Kia Tasman stands as a tribute to exploration and discovery.
In a creative collaboration, Kia joined forces with acclaimed artist Richard Boyd-Dunlop, who hails from Australia and New Zealand, to design the wrap themed 'The Path Never Taken’. This partnership has resulted in a visually striking design that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of adventure associated with the Tasman model.

Reflecting on the inspiration behind the design, Karim Habib, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design, shared, "Our Tasman pickup truck embodies Kia's commitment to design and innovation, as well as its spirit of adventure. Richard Boyd-Dunlop, with the support of the Kia design team, crafted an exclusive camouflage design that depicts a journey and reflects an essence of adventure that is unique to the Tasman."
The camouflage wrap draws its inspiration from the diverse landscapes of Australia, visualizing the inspiration and encounters one might experience while navigating the country’s coastlines and outback. Boyd-Dunlop's personal adventures across Australia, often hitching rides in the back of pickup trucks, greatly influenced the captivating exterior design.
"This design resonates as it evokes my own personal experiences traveling across Australia and the encounters that I had. These experiences are influential to my work, and the Tasman enabled me to create a continuation of this, depicting the connection, joy, and sheer sense of adventure that is inherent to Australian culture," Boyd-Dunlop commented.
The exclusive design for the Kia Tasman combines fiery hues reminiscent of the Australian outback with the commanding blues of the country's significant surf culture, capturing elements of both land and sea in a bold and visually impactful manner.
Slated for its debut in 2025, the Tasman signifies Kia’s initial entry into the competitive C-segment pickup truck market. The launch strategy for the Tasman is set to unfold globally, targeting key markets, including Korea, Australia, Africa, and the Middle East. Designed to seamlessly transition from a work-oriented vehicle to a versatile truck catering to diverse personal needs, the Tasman is poised to support an active and demanding lifestyle, accommodating a wide range of leisure activities.
To celebrate the unveiling of the Tasman's camouflage design, Kia has released a short video that delves into the intricate details and the inspiration behind the concept, showcasing the vehicle's adventurous ethos and design innovation.
