Emirati Women's Day: Abaya Rally Marks The Occasion With Empowerment And Electric Vehicles

The fourth edition of the Abaya Rally illuminated the Dubai Autodrome on August 24, 2024. Over 200 women gathered to celebrate Emirati Women's Day, demonstrating unity and empowerment. Organised by Orbit Events, this all-women drive highlighted the strength and resilience of women from various nationalities, all proudly driving in their Abayas.

This year's rally was notable for its sense of community and collective strength. The Club Circuit buzzed with determined women making their mark on the track. A newly introduced drift passenger experience added to the thrill, providing an adrenaline-filled adventure that perfectly complemented the rally's empowering atmosphere.

ZEEKR X, a premium electric compact SUV, took centre stage as the flagship vehicle of the Abaya Rally. Dedicated to celebrating and empowering women, ZEEKR—distributed by AW Rostamani Group (AWR)—epitomises innovation and advancement. The event featured ZEEKR X and ZEEKR 001, showcasing the brand's commitment to style and sophistication in the EV segment.

The event celebrated Emirati Women's Day by honouring Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak's vision. It featured an elite panel of accomplished Emirati women: Maitha Alblooshi, Founder of Be You; Abeer Matrooshi, Professional Coach; Alanoud Alhashmi, Businesswoman; and Eman Ahmed Al Bastaki from AWRostamani Group. The event also recognised Emirati Women of Achievement: Ayatelrahman Al Sharawy from Dubai Women's Police and Safa Almahri with licenses in all seven driving categories.

The rally spotlighted distinguished automotive trailblazers such as Eman Thani, a professional biker; Nahla Al Rostamani, who holds a racing license; Nora Al Jassasi, a rally driver; and Syeda Aisha Atif, a mechanical engineer. Honorees included Fouzia Zahoor, youngest woman with a heavy vehicle license in UAE; Rana Hayek, an engineer; mechanic; influencer.
