BYD SEAL U DM-i Introduces Revolutionary Super DM Technology At Geneva Motor Show

At the Geneva International Motor Show 2024, BYD, a global leader in the manufacture of new energy vehicles and power batteries, unveiled the BYD SEAL U DM-i to the European market. This marks the first time that European consumers will have access to BYD's Super DM (Dual Mode) Technology through the elegant and spacious D-Segment plug-in hybrid SUV. The technology focuses on prioritising electric driving while ensuring ultra-low fuel consumption and high energy efficiency.

The BYD SEAL U DM-i stands out as an efficient, practical solution for daily mobility and long-range travel without the constant need to stop for charging. This family-sized, five-seater SUV combines elegant design, high-tech features, and practical functionality, making it a desirable option for those seeking an environmentally friendly vehicle without sacrificing range or performance.

Inspired by the Ocean

Incorporating BYD's 'Ocean Aesthetics' design language, the SEAL U DM-i's exterior features a distinctive X-shaped front face, contoured bonnet, and front bumper with integrated LED headlights. Its dynamic sloping waistline and balanced proportions provide a sleek and elegant silhouette, further accentuated by sporty bi-colour 19-inch alloy wheels. The vehicle’s rear boasts continuous dot matrix 'water drop' inspired LED taillights, emphasising its high-tech aura.

The interior of the SEAL U DM-i offers a premium experience, with vegan leather upholstery, atmospheric mood lighting, and a host of ocean-inspired design elements. The spacious cabin comfortably accommodates five adults, with a 552-litre boot space that can be expanded to 1,440 litres when the seats are folded. Technology features include a 15.6" rotatable full LCD touchscreen, OTA updates, a premium Infinity sound system, voice command, and Bluetooth wireless charging.

Additionally, the vehicle comes equipped with an ultra-strong body structure for enhanced safety, including omni-directional collision energy absorption.

For added convenience, the SEAL U DM-i features fast DC charging capabilities, allowing for a 30-80% charge in just 35 minutes. It also includes VTOL functionality as standard, enabling external devices to be charged or powered by the car battery during journeys.
