Bentley Reveals Coachbuilt Batur Convertible: A Fusion Of Luxury And Power
Bentley Motors has unveiled its latest masterpiece, the Batur Convertible, marking it as the third coachbuilt creation from Mulliner, Bentley's bespoke division. This new addition follows the footsteps of the Bacalar barchetta and Batur coupe, showcasing Mulliner's dedication to crafting distinct vehicles that cater to the individual preferences of its clients. The Batur Convertible stands out with its iconic 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine, positioning it among the final models to feature this esteemed powertrain.
The design of the Batur Convertible is a harmonious blend of elements borrowed from both the Bacalar and Batur, featuring a "wraparound" cockpit and tapered cowls that nod to the aesthetics of classic sports cars. A notable feature is the convertible roof, which can be deployed or stowed in a mere 19 seconds even while the vehicle is in motion, provided it's traveling at speeds up to 30 mph. This level of customization extends to every surface of the car, allowing customers to choose from a wide array of paint colors, exterior brightware options, and unique materials for various components such as the Airbridge, tonneau cover, and roof.

Inside the cabin, Bentley offers an exclusive touch with the option for 3D printed rose gold accents on key touchpoints like the Bentley Drive Mode Selector and steering wheel. These parts are meticulously crafted in collaboration with expert goldsmiths based in Birmingham, adding a layer of bespoke luxury to the vehicle's interior. Production of the Batur Convertible will be highly exclusive, limited to just 16 units. Each car will undergo a detailed handcrafting process spanning several months.
The heart of the Batur Convertible is Bentley's powerful W12 engine, which has been enhanced to deliver an impressive 750 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque. These upgrades include a revised intake system, upgraded turbochargers, and new intercoolers. The Batur Convertible Car #0, an engineering development car, showcases these capabilities alongside a bespoke exterior paint job in Vermillion Gloss over Vermillion Satin Duo tone, complemented by carbon fibre accents and a unique grille design.
This engineering marvel not only highlights Bentley's commitment to offering unparalleled luxury and performance but also signifies a pivotal moment as one of the last models to feature the iconic 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine. With its limited production run and extensive customization options, the Batur Convertible is poised to become a coveted model among automobile enthusiasts seeking exclusivity and bespoke craftsmanship.
