Aston Martin Debuts Apple CarPlay Ultra For iPhone Users
In a first, Aston Martin has achieved a pioneering milestone by introducing CarPlay Ultra, marking a significant collaboration with Apple. This advancement integrates the familiar functionalities of iPhone into Aston Martin's vehicles, elevating the in-car experience to unprecedented levels.
CarPlay Ultra, designed to enhance the interface of both the infotainment touchscreen and instrument cluster, offers real-time information, blending Aston Martin's performance ethos with customizable features. This innovation is now a standard feature for all new Aston Martin models ordered in the USA and Canada, with plans to roll out updates for existing models equipped with the latest infotainment system.

Adrian Hallmark, the CEO of Aston Martin, said: "Aston Martin is delighted to have collaborated with Apple, and to be first to launch CarPlay Ultra. As a Brand our focus on world-leading performance goes beyond the traditional attributes associated with powertrains, dynamic performance, and craftsmanship."
The integration of CarPlay Ultra into Aston Martin's vehicles showcases a seamless blend of technology and luxury, offering drivers a range of customizable options. Through CarPlay Ultra, users can personalize instrument cluster themes, adjust colours, and select wallpapers to suit their tastes. Moreover, it allows for the control of vehicle functions such as radio and climate through touchscreen controls, physical buttons, or voice commands via Siri. Aston Martin's collaboration with Apple ensures that CarPlay Ultra aligns with the brand's design philosophy while offering a cohesive and instantly recognizable experience.
Bob Borchers, Apple's vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, highlighted the transformative impact of CarPlay on user interaction with their vehicles. "iPhone users love CarPlay and it has changed the way people interact with their vehicles. With CarPlay Ultra, together with automakers we are reimagining the in-car experience and making it even more unified and consistent," Borchers explained. This next generation of CarPlay aims to deeply integrate iPhone functionality into the vehicle, maintaining the high standards of automakers while enriching the driving experience.
Aston Martin's next-generation infotainment system, introduced in 2023 with the debut of the all-new DB12, plays a crucial role in the seamless integration of CarPlay Ultra. This bespoke system, Aston Martin's first in-house development, combines online connectivity with a 10.25" Pure Black touchscreen, supporting single and multi-finger gestures. It retains physical buttons for essential controls, ensuring a balanced user experience that marries touchscreen convenience with tactile feedback.
The launch of CarPlay Ultra signifies Aston Martin's leadership in infotainment technology, providing a sophisticated, connected car experience across its range. Initially available in the USA and Canada, CarPlay Ultra will be featured in models like the DBX, Vantage, DB12, and Vanquish, with plans to extend globally within the next year.
This feature requires an iPhone 12 or later, running iOS 18.54 or newer, and will be included as standard on all new orders, with updates available for existing models through Aston Martin's dealer network. This strategic move further positions Aston Martin at the forefront of automotive technology and luxury, offering an unparalleled in-car experience.
