Flying Cars To Take Off In UAE By 2025 With Heliports In Dubai's Palm Jumeirah and Abu Dhabi Corniche
Residents in the UAE can now experience flying taxis as early as 2025. Archer Aviation, a pioneering name in the aviation industry, has taken a significant step forward by partnering with Falcon Aviation, Aviation Services Operator in the UAE. This collaboration aims to introduce the innovative Midnight flying car to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, potentially as early as 2025, signalling a new era in urban air mobility across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
The partnership focuses on developing cutting-edge vertiport infrastructure at strategic locations — Falcon Heliport at Atlantis, the Palm in Dubai, and the Marina Mall heliport in Abu Dhabi's Corniche. This initiative is set to revolutionise the commute between these two bustling cities, reducing travel time from over two hours to a mere 30 minutes. The proposed service will offer passengers breathtaking aerial views of both cities, traversing almost entirely over water.
Adam Goldstein, Archer's founder and CEO, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, "Partnering with established operators such as Falcon Aviation, as well as the capital of the Emirates with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, has been key to quickly building our presence in the region." He also highlighted the goal of making the UAE a global leader in urban air mobility with the introduction of Archer's Midnight aircraft.
Captain Ramandeep Oberoi, CEO of Falcon Aviation, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, noting Falcon Aviation's longstanding history of providing premier helicopter passenger transport in the UAE. He sees this collaboration as a step into the future of transportation.
The announcement also coincided with the inauguration of Falcon Aviation's renovated Heliport Terminal at Atlantis, the Palm, showcasing the future vision for vertiport and service that will facilitate Midnight flights in the region. This move reinforces a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed last year, wherein Falcon Aviation agreed to operate numerous Archer's Midnight flying cars, marking the UAE as Archer's first international launch market.
Nikhil Goel, Archer's Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the rapid progress made in the UAE, stating, "We have made rapid progress in the UAE over the past three months since announcing Abu Dhabi and Dubai will be home to our first international Midnight flights as soon as 2025. We're proud to be the first to announce plans to operate between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, along with vertiport infrastructure at both ends of the commuter journey."
Archer Aviation is ambitiously aiming to transform urban travel dynamics. The company envisions replacing traditional 60–90-minute car commutes with 10-30 minute electric air taxi flights. Archer's Midnight, a piloted, four-passenger aircraft, is designed for rapid, back-to-back flights with minimal charge time, offering a safe, sustainable, low noise, and cost-competitive alternative to ground transportation.
