Al-Futtaim BYD UAE Launches BYD Shark 6 Plug-in Hybrid Pickup

In the UAE, Al-Futtaim BYD UAE has unveiled the BYD Shark 6 Plug-in Hybrid Pickup, a pioneering vehicle in the region's pickup market. This release not only introduces the first plug-in hybrid pickup in the UAE but also signifies BYD's robust entry into the local pickup segment.

The BYD Shark 6 stands out with its robust 429 horsepower and an impressive torque of 650 Nm, enabling it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds. Its capability to tow up to 2.5 tonnes makes it suitable for various outdoor activities, deftly combining power and eco-friendliness.

The vehicle’s design, inspired by the sleekness and agility of a shark, incorporates futuristic elements into both its exterior and interior, making it a visually stunning addition to the midsize pickup market.

Beyond aesthetics, the BYD Shark 6 is equipped with a range of innovative features aimed at improving the driving experience. Its 12.8-inch Intelligent Rotating Touchscreen offers seamless access to the vehicle's numerous functions, adapting between portrait and landscape modes for optimal usability.

dditionally, the comfort of passengers is prioritised with ventilated front seats and a sophisticated 8-speaker Dirac sound system, ensuring enjoyable journeys regardless of the destination.

Safety is another area where the Shark 6 excels, boasting a 5-Star Safety Rating by Latin NCAP. Alongside, its Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability enhances its utility, allowing the pickup to power external devices, ideal for outdoor enthusiasts. The pickup further benefits from a 360° Surround View and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), making navigation and maneuvering both effortless and secure.

The Shark 6 is built on the DMO (Dual Mode Off-road) Super-Hybrid platform, an innovation that integrates a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine with two powerful electric motors. This combination offers an unmatched driving experience, bolstered by regenerative braking and smart power management.

Its capability is further underscored by its ability to traverse a variety of terrains, supported by a long-range of 520 km, ensuring drivers can explore without the worry of frequent recharging.
