Ethara To Host An Expanded Abu Dhabi Grand Prix In December With Muse Headlining

The Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2024 is set to deliver an enhanced race weekend experience on Yas Island, as announced by Ethara, the event organizers. This upcoming edition marks the 16th year of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, a pivotal event for the region's tourism and leisure industries. The 2023 race weekend attracted a record attendance of 170,000 fans, with a significant 65% coming from outside the UAE. Notably, the event has seen a growing trend in younger and female fan participation.

The economic impact of the race on Abu Dhabi was profound, with a total expenditure reaching AED 1.165 billion ($317 million). This contribution underscores Abu Dhabi's status as a premier global destination for tourism and leisure. Formula 1's popularity has surged, evidenced by over 5.9 million fans attending the 23 races in 2023, marking a 43% increase from 2018. The 2024 season is expanding to include 24 races across 21 countries.

A novel addition to the fan experience for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is the inaugural Run #AbuDhabiGP. This event invites attendees to run on the iconic Yas Marina Circuit on December 5, ahead of the season finale. This initiative aligns with Ethara's commitment to promoting healthy and active community engagements, highlighted by over one million participants in their weekly TrainYAS activity.

Racegoers will also enjoy access to the circuit on their selected race weekend day, entry to the Yasalam After-Race Concert, and a complimentary one-day pass to any of Yas Island's adventure parks. The Yas All In program further enriches the visitor experience by offering access to theme parks and cultural attractions, attracting thousands during race week in 2023.

The Yasalam After-Race Concerts are set to return in 2024 with a lineup of AAA artists, starting with the globally acclaimed rock band Muse. Known for their dynamic live performances, Muse has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. Their latest album, "Will Of The People," achieved significant commercial success. James Craven, President of Live Nation Middle East, expressed enthusiasm about partnering with Ethara to elevate the event's entertainment offerings, promising more world-class artists to be announced.
