Rev Up Your Adventure: Triumph’s 2024 Tiger 1200 Unveiled
In a significant development for motorcycle enthusiasts, Triumph Motorcycles has introduced a series of updates to its Tiger 1200 range for 2024, aimed at enhancing the riding experience. The latest iteration of the Tiger 1200 family boasts advancements in engine refinement, ergonomic improvements for long-distance journeys, and increased cornering capabilities, particularly on GT models. The introduction of Active Preload Reduction across the lineup also offers a notable seat height reduction, complemented by the addition of distinctive new colours.
The heart of the Tiger 1200, the 1160cc triple engine, has been meticulously refined to offer a smoother ride with superior low-speed control, while maintaining its exciting triple character. Triumph's engineering team has made strategic adjustments to the crankshaft, alternator rotor, and balancer, enhancing engine inertia. This, along with calibration changes, has resulted in smoother torque delivery at low revs, a benefit riders will appreciate during acceleration or deceleration. Furthermore, an updated clutch design promises smoother gear shifts, particularly when engaging the first gear.

Raised Comfort and Ergonomic Standards
Committed to delivering all-day riding comfort, Triumph has introduced several ergonomic enhancements. The Tiger 1200 now features a revised engine balancing strategy that significantly reduces vibration, thereby improving comfort at all key rider touchpoints. For the GT Pro and Rally Pro models, dampened handlebars and risers have been adopted from the Explorer models, ensuring a smoother ride and better mirror visibility. The rider seat has been redesigned with a flatter profile, offering more space and reducing fatigue on extended trips. An accessory low seat option further reduces the seat height by 20mm, enhancing comfort and accessibility.
For riders who prioritize maneuverability, Triumph has increased the cornering ground clearance of the Tiger 1200 GT Pro and GT Explorer models. This has been achieved by adjusting the footpeg positions for a higher and closer fit to the bike. The innovative Active Preload Reduction, unveiled in August 2023, lowers the rear suspension preload as the bike comes to a stop, reducing the seat height by up to 20mm at the push of a button. This feature aims to boost rider confidence, particularly at low speeds or when stopping.
Stylish Updates and Global Appeal
The Tiger 1200 is now available in four variants, each offering new colour schemes for 2024. The road-focused Tiger 1200 GT Pro and GT Explorer models catch the eye with their Carnival Red colour, in addition to the existing Snowdonia White and Sapphire Black options. For those seeking adventures off the beaten path, the Tiger 1200 Rally Pro and Rally Explorer models are now available in Matt Sandstorm and Jet Black, alongside the popular Matt Khaki.
Steve Sargent, Chief Product Officer at Triumph, has expressed confidence in the 2024 updates broadening the global appeal of the Tiger 1200 range. He highlighted the significant global sales impact of the current generation model, attributing its success to the company's commitment to continuous improvement and customer feedback integration. The Tiger 1200's reputation as a highly capable and agile large capacity adventure motorcycle has been reinforced by its selection by Enduro World Champion Ivan Cervantes for his Guinness World Records title achievement.
Introduced in 2021, the latest generation Tiger 1200 has set new standards in the large capacity adventure motorcycle segment, thanks to its exceptional agility and maneuverability. With these 2024 updates, Triumph aims to solidify the Tiger 1200's position in the market and continue its trajectory of global sales success.
