Virgin Atlantic To Launch Flights Between Riyadh And This Gorgeous City In Ghana

Virgin Atlantic is set to introduce a new route from London to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, next year. Additionally, the airline will reinstate flights to Ghana for the first time in over ten years.

The UK-based airline will commence daily Heathrow-Riyadh flights on 30 March 2025. These flights will use Airbus A330neo aircraft, featuring the latest Upper Class cabin known as the Retreat Suite.

New Routes and Aircraft

Virgin Atlantic will also resume its Heathrow-Accra route on 1 May 2025. The airline last operated this route in 2013. This service will run daily using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, equipped with economy, premium, and Upper Class cabins.

Juha Jarvinen, Virgin Atlantic's chief commercial officer, commented: "Riyadh and Accra join Toronto as new routes for summer flying in 2025 and we see huge opportunities to connect friends, relatives and businesses with our new services."

The airline has previously announced its return to Canada next year after more than a decade. Flights from Heathrow to Toronto are scheduled to start on 30 March 2025.

Market Competition and Connectivity

"The airline will provide much needed competition on the route, which currently lacks a choice of routes between the two countries," said Virgin in its announcement.

Virgin Atlantic aims to enhance connectivity by building on its codeshare with SkyTeam partner Saudia. This partnership is expected to strengthen regional connections and offer new benefits to loyal customers.

Both the Riyadh and Accra routes will be available for booking starting 12 September. However, these services are subject to government and slot approvals.

The introduction of these new routes reflects Virgin Atlantic's strategy to expand its network and offer more travel options. By doing so, they aim to connect more people across different regions effectively.

Virgin Atlantic's expansion plans include not only new destinations but also upgraded services. The use of advanced aircraft like the Airbus A330neo and Boeing 787 Dreamliner underscores their commitment to providing a superior travel experience.

The airline's return to these markets signifies a strategic move to tap into growing demand for air travel between these regions. This expansion is expected to benefit both leisure and business travellers alike.

Virgin Atlantic continues to explore opportunities for growth while maintaining high standards of service. Their focus remains on connecting people globally through efficient and comfortable air travel options.

The announcement of these new routes comes at a time when global travel is gradually recovering. Virgin Atlantic aims to meet this resurgence in demand with enhanced connectivity and competitive offerings.

These developments mark an exciting phase for Virgin Atlantic as they broaden their horizons and strengthen their presence in key international markets.
