Explore Europe Differently: Uber Launches Boat Services For Iconic Seaside Escapes
Millions of travellers are gearing up for European vacations, and Uber introducing new boat services in popular destinations. These offerings aim to enhance tourists' experiences by providing unique nautical adventures across the continent.
Over 6.5 million international customers used the Uber app in Europe's top destinations last summer, with more than 800,000 people opening the app in Ibiza alone over the past year.
Uber Yacht in Ibiza
This summer, Uber is launching a series of luxurious boating experiences. Following its debut in Europe's party capital last year, Uber Yacht will be available in Ibiza this August. This service allows customers to book a private yacht for a day directly through the Uber app. Departing daily from Ibiza Town Marina at 12pm, the yacht can accommodate up to 8 people for €1600.
The 8-hour trip includes a personal skipper, a complimentary bottle of champagne, and locally sourced snacks. Transfers to and from the yacht are also included from anywhere on the island. From exploring Formentera's waters to watching sunsets at Es Vedra, Uber Yacht offers an unforgettable experience.
Venice's Limo Boat Service
Starting in July, Venice will see the introduction of a unique water transport service. Tourists can use the Uber app to summon a 'Limo Boat' on-demand to navigate the Venetian Lagoon. Priced from €120 per trip, this service can accommodate up to 6 people and operates between 8am and 8pm daily.
In Greece, Uber Boat will expand from Mykonos to Athens, Corfu, and Santorini later in July. This service allows visitors to travel stylishly to beach clubs, scenic coves, and remote locations via the Uber app.
Paris' All-Electric Uber Cruise
Visitors to Paris this summer can enjoy an all-electric boat ride with Uber Cruise. This free one-hour private tour down the river Seine offers breathtaking views of Notre Dame, Le Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower while sipping bubbly with friends or family.
The launch of these new travel products responds to increasing demand for Uber's services in European tourist hotspots. Data from summer 2023 shows that international customers' demand for Uber's mobility services rose by up to 55% in places like Greece and Spain.
Availability of these services, including Uber Yacht and Uber Cruise, will be limited and subject to weather conditions.
