Two UAE Hotels Ranked Among World's Best Hotels 2024
In a recent reveal by Tripadvisor, the world's foremost travel guidance platform, two prestigious properties from the UAE have been spotlighted among the best hotels globally for the year 2024. Securing their positions based on thousands of Tripadvisor reviews, the Ritz-Carlton Dubai and Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers have been lauded for their exceptional services and amenities, marking a significant achievement for the UAE's hospitality sector.
The Ritz-Carlton Dubai, a longstanding gem since its inauguration in 1998 in what is now known as The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence, has been ranked as the 17th best hotel worldwide. With a total of 7,359 reviews, guests have particularly praised its swimming pools and child-friendly facilities. This property emerged as one of the first Middle Eastern and North African ventures by the hotel group, predating major developments like Dubai Marina and The Palm Jumeirah.
On the other hand, Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers, which opened its doors in 2001 after transitioning from Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts, clinched the 20th spot on the coveted list. Garnering 7,674 Tripadvisor reviews, the hotel is celebrated for its infinity pool and swim-up bar, among other upscale amenities. The property, known for its breathtaking views and top-notch service, adds to the capital's luxury hospitality offerings.
Globally, the top honour of the best hotel for 2024 went to Hotel Colline de France in Gramado, Brazil, admired for its personalized service and French elegance. The accolade underscores the hotel's consistent performance, having ranked in Tripadvisor's top five for three consecutive years. Following closely in the list are Oblu Select Lobigili in the Maldives and La Siesta Hoi Ann Resort and Spa in Vietnam, occupying the second and third places, respectively.
Dan Mitchell, Tripadvisor's vice president and general manager for hotels, highlighted the unique attributes of the winners. “Our Best of the Best Hotels are marvels, acclaimed by thousands of travellers for their remarkable service, stunning design and wealth of amenities that redefine what it means to have an exceptional hotel experience,” he stated. This year's list also features hotels from India and Turkey, underscoring the diverse range of luxury accommodations available to global travellers.
Moreover, Tripadvisor introduced three new award categories for 2024, spotlighting the best in pet-friendly, sustainable, and wellness hotels. Notably, the Banyan Tree hotel group received praise for its Bali property, Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape, hailed as the world's most sustainable hotel. Meanwhile, the Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa was distinguished as the best wellness hotel, further cementing the Maldives' reputation as a leading luxury and wellness destination.
Despite the fierce competition, Voco Dubai The Palm narrowly missed making it to the top 20 list for the world's best pet-friendly hotels, ranking at number 21. This recognition, however, underscores the growing emphasis on inclusive and diverse hospitality offerings catering to various traveller needs.
The inclusion of the Ritz-Carlton Dubai and Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers in Tripadvisor's prestigious ranking not only celebrates the exemplary service and facilities of these establishments but also reaffirms the UAE's position as a leading destination for luxury travel.
