Türkiye Introduces New Flight Delay Compensation Rules For Worldwide Routes, Sets Global Standards

Türkiye has recently enacted a series of regulations aimed at safeguarding air travelers from extensive flight delays. These new directives, mandated by the Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation (SHGM) and published in the Official Gazette on Tuesday, signify a substantial shift towards aligning with European Union aviation standards.

• International flights between 1,500 and 3,500 kilometers: 400 euros
• International flights exceeding 3,500 kilometers: 600 euros

Compensation payments will be made in Turkish lira, with amounts calculated based on the Turkish Central Bank’s exchange rate on the day of payment.
