Turkish AJet Airlines Begins Operations In Saudi Arabia To Enhance Travel Options

The Saudi Air Connectivity Program (ACP) has partnered with stakeholders to welcome Turkish AJet Airlines into Saudi Arabia. This month, AJet began flights connecting Riyadh, Jeddah, Madinah, and Dammam with Türkiye. This initiative aims to enhance travel options and boost trade and tourism between the two nations.

Jeddah Airports CEO Eng. Mazen bin Mohammed Johar highlighted that Turkish airlines now operate six weekly flights from Sabiha Gökçen International Airport. This development aligns with Jeddah Airports' strategy to expand King Abdulaziz International Airport's connections. The goal is to link the airport to 150 international destinations and accommodate over 114 million passengers by 2030.

AJet Airlines Launches in Saudi Arabia

ACP CEO Majid Khan expressed enthusiasm about the enhanced air connectivity between Türkiye and Saudi Arabia due to AJet's entry. "Air connectivity to the Kingdom from Türkiye will be further enhanced with the entry of AJet," he stated. The increased point-to-point traffic from Istanbul and Ankara is expected to support inbound tourism in Madinah, Jeddah, Dammam, and Riyadh.

Khan also mentioned that this partnership would bolster Saudi Arabia's airport network and address underserved markets. ACP's efforts aim to streamline market entry for both local and international air travel partners, promoting expansion opportunities within the Kingdom.

The ACP is committed to developing new routes that position Saudi Arabia as a global leader in tourism air connectivity. By doing so, it supports the objectives of the Saudi National Tourism Strategy and the National Aviation Strategy. These strategies focus on increasing resilient capacity while maintaining high-quality service standards.

Eng. Mazen bin Mohammed Johar noted that these new routes would solidify King Abdulaziz International Airport's role as a central hub connecting East and West. This expansion provides passengers with more travel options while ensuring a smooth travel experience.

The collaboration between ACP and AJet Airlines marks a significant step in enhancing air connectivity in Saudi Arabia. It not only facilitates easier access for travelers but also strengthens economic ties through increased trade and tourism opportunities.
