'Tis the season to travel. As the winter holiday season approaches, Dubai International (DXB) is gearing up for an influx of over 5.2 million passengers from December 13 to 31.
This period is expected to witness a daily average of 274,000 travelers, with the anticipation of December 20 being the peak day, welcoming nearly 296,000 guests. Furthermore, the weekend spanning December 20 to 22 is projected to see around 880,000 passengers, highlighting the airport's capacity to handle significant volumes of international traffic.
Amid this bustling travel season, Dubai Airports has put forth a series of travel tips aimed at ensuring a seamless experience for all passengers.
- To avoid the rush, travelers flying with Emirates are encouraged to take advantage of home, early, and city check-in facilities.
- Those flying with other carriers should plan to arrive no more than three hours before their flight.
- For a smoother security process, passengers are advised to keep metal objects and electronics in their hand luggage and comply with the regulations for liquids, aerosols, and gels (LAGs).
- Additionally, all portable electronic devices, power banks, and spare batteries must be carried in hand luggage, as they are not allowed in checked baggage.

These activities are designed to surprise and delight, making every journey through DXB truly memorable," Al Shamsi stated.
To further expedite the travel process, families with children over 12 years old are encouraged to use Smart Gates for faster passport control. Planning ahead by organizing travel documents, checking baggage allowances, and familiarizing with airline regulations can also greatly enhance the travel experience.
For those seeking to avoid traffic congestion, the Dubai Metro offers convenient access to Terminals 1 and 3. Moreover, to maintain a smooth flow within the terminals during peak times, farewells and goodbyes are recommended to be exchanged at home, as only passengers will be allowed inside.
