Sun Siyam Marks 35 Years With Brand Transformation Celebrating Maldivian Culture
Sun Siyam marks a significant chapter in its journey, unveiling a comprehensive brand transformation on its 35th anniversary, celebrating Maldivian hospitality. This evolution is not just about a new look but embodies a deeper commitment to preserving the Maldivian spirit, positioning itself as a leading authentic resort group in the Maldives.
The introduction of distinct Signature Experiences across its resorts is aimed at enriching guest stays with the essence of Maldivian culture and heritage, while the introduction of Siyam Rewards seeks to forge stronger direct connections with guests.

The rebranding effort clusters the group's properties into three collections under the unified banner of The House of Siyam, simplifying the understanding of their diverse offerings for guests and partners.
Sun Siyam Iru Fushi leads the Luxury Collection, epitomizing top-tier island indulgence, while Sun Siyam Olhuveli and Siyam World, vibrant with entertainment and adventure, represent the Lifestyle Collection. The Privé Collection, with Sun Siyam Iru Veli, Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, and Sun Siyam Pasikudah in Sri Lanka, offers intimate escapes prioritizing privacy and bespoke luxury.
Signature Experiences and Siyam Rewards
Central to Sun Siyam's rebranding initiative are the Signature Experiences, designed to immerse guests in the rich Maldivian heritage. From culinary journeys celebrating local traditions to the Maldives' first overwater photo studio, the Insta Villa, these experiences invite guests to delve into the culture.
The launch of the Sun Siyam Beach Club, offering relaxed afternoons that transform into lively evenings of music and dance, further enriches the guest experience with unique, joyous moments.
Siyam Rewards, a new digital membership program, underscores the brand's dedication to enhancing guest relationships. Offering personalized itineraries, room upgrades, and options for carbon offsets, the program rewards guests from their first booking, aligning with the group's commitment to sustainability and community support through Sun Siyam Care.
Expert Collaboration and Redesigned Digital Presence
The rebranding initiative was a collaborative effort with leading industry experts. JHAGGER&CO led the project, emphasizing audience research and an internal reevaluation of the brand's vision, purpose, and values.
London-based StudioSixty7, under the creative direction of Lee McNichol and Jose Rivero, refreshed the interior designs, while Maldives hospitality veteran Dominik Ruhl contributed to developing new operational standards and signature experiences.
The operational execution by the island teams, under the leadership of Abdulla Thamheed, VP of Operations at Sun Siyam, alongside the sales, marketing, and public relations teams, ensured the brand's Maldivian essence was preserved while introducing a contemporary flair.
Reflecting on the brand's evolution, Sun Siyam's Founder, Owner & Managing Director, Hon. Ahmed Siyam Mohamed, emphasized the goal of sharing the warmth of Maldivian islands and people with the world. The transformation, he notes, maintains this core purpose while innovating for future generations of travelers.
Echoing this sentiment, Chief Executive Officer Deepak Booneady highlighted the shift towards cultural authenticity and purpose-driven hospitality, setting a new benchmark for island travel with the region's most generous premium all-inclusive plan and a wide choice of villas.
