"Welcome home"—a phrase you'll hear from the moment you arrive in the Maldives and get picked up by the Sun Siyam staff, to when you reach the hotel and see "Welcome home" drawn on your bed. This is exactly how they make you feel—at home.

My trip to the Maldives with Sun Siyam Resorts was nothing less than perfect; it was truly a dream trip. From the moment I arrived at the airport, I was treated like a real-life Disney princess. I was escorted to the Siyam World Maldives lounge, where I encountered an endless buffet and comfortable sofa beds for a quick nap, as well as a small spa offering relaxing back and neck massages to ease the tension from the flight before I was taken to the seaplane.

After I boarded the seaplane, especially customized for Sun Siyam, I was mesmerized. The panoramic views of the archipelago were just out of this world. It was the most visually appealing sight ever. You fly over crystal-clear waters, coral reefs, and lush green islands, offering the best bird's-eye view of this lovely archipelago in the Indian Ocean. It is, hands down, the most scenic flight in the world.

The staff welcomed me and other visitors with Maldivian tunes played on hand drums and decorated my neck with a necklace. The blue skies and clear waters made it all worthwhile—an island beauty that is simply breathtaking.

The first words the staff said were "welcome home," and it was truly where I felt at home. I was driven in a buggy to my two-story beachside villa. The best part was the outdoor shower! The drive to the villa took me through lush greenery. Upon opening the front door, I found a spacious living room with a mini bar filled with snacks and drinks that are replenished daily. When you open the back sliding door, you step onto a sun bed facing the ocean. On the other side of the villa, you'll find a private pool and jacuzzi. Upstairs, there's a massive bed, another mini bar area filled with snacks, a second bathroom, and a balcony facing the ocean where you can relax and indulge in the most gorgeous sunset or sunrise views. Not to mention, there's another shower upstairs. It's just incredible.

Due to the high importance the resort places on hygiene and sanitation, cleaning takes place twice a day—unless, of course, you prefer it less frequently.

This resort features 16 different villa types and a total of 470 villas. As I mentioned, it's massive—one of the largest resorts in the Maldives. Sixty percent of the villas are water villas, all equipped with slides. Another unique feature of Siyam World Resort is that all villas include a private pool. You can also find various villa sizes with different bedroom configurations, catering to all budgets.

Siyam World Island is expansive. It's not your typical Maldives destination; its concept goes beyond just sun, swim, and romance. A world filled with adventure awaits you. Siyam World caters not only to couples but is also perfect for families and solo travelers like myself! While other islands in the Maldives might take you 15 minutes to walk around, you need more than an hour to explore Siyam World. You can enjoy endless activities and breathtaking adventures beyond just soaking in the crystal-clear waters.

Moreover, you'll enjoy a no-car experience on the island, where you can walk, rent bicycles, or ride buggies. There are also 11 bus stops spaced 100 meters apart, each resembling a famous city in the world, where you can catch a shuttle every 15 minutes. This is based on the "World Express" concept, meaning you can explore the world in one place! Trust me, you won't wait the full 15 minutes for a shuttle; they operate 24/7. You can just hail a buggy or a shuttle like you would a cab in your city!

I could never have imagined that a resort in the Maldives would offer all these options. Often, we tend to visualize the Maldives as a romantic place only for couples on their honeymoon. Let me break it to you—Siyam World is much more than that.

You can find various restaurants and bars, enjoy pool parties, and listen to live bands! Family-friendly spots and quieter adult areas ensure there's something for everyone.

Given the resort's large size and the influx of guests throughout the year, there are two clinics with doctors and nurses to ensure everyone's safety and attend to any injuries in case of unfortunate events.

As a solo traveler, my itinerary at the resort was fantastic. I got to release my inner child at the floating water park, go horseback riding on the beach for some amazing photos, feel an adrenaline rush with go-karting (the first karting experience in the Maldives), enjoy fabulous pool parties with dancers and acrobats, and watch a football match hosted by Siyam World between staff from different resorts. For sports lovers, Siyam World is the perfect place, and it includes a tennis court, a badminton court, a paddle court, and a basketball court!!

You can also explore the world of possibilities and discover different cuisines at any of the 11 restaurants of your choice, including Spanish, international, Maldivian, Indian, Japanese, and Thai classics. There's even a hidden underground restaurant and one for small private events. If you're vegan or vegetarian, Siyam World has got you covered too. Wind down with a refreshing drink at any of its 8 bars. Oh, and how could I forget? There's a sports/snacks bar with a corner resembling the famous "Friends" series, open 24 hours a day!

For nightlife enthusiasts, the resort's entertainment is an experience you shouldn't miss. Each night features different performances, ranging from fire dances and aerial silk acrobatics to glow parties and belly dancing. Every evening will be one you treasure for the rest of your life.

If you want to stay fit during your vacation—taking into consideration that you won't be able to resist all the delicious food at the resort—there's a gym equipped with various equipment. Besides, what's better than meditating on an island? At Siyam World, you also have the chance to join a yoga or meditation class. And children can also enroll in yoga and Zumbini classes!

To embark on a journey of endless healing experiences, Veyo Spa is your ultimate sanctuary, inspired by the island's natural and peaceful surroundings. The spa is set within lush tropical grounds, complete with spacious treatment villas, relaxation areas, hydro facilities, and a self-service healthy bar. This spa offers a mix of curated therapies and wellness sessions alongside state-of-the-art facilities dedicated to well-being. I, for one, indulged in the Maldivian Cowrie Shell Massage, which was nothing short of amazing. For someone who loves massages, this was a mind-blowing experience. The cowrie shells added just the right pressure, and my body went from stiff to totally relaxed in just 75 minutes! The professionalism and care of the staff were also extremely impressive. Let's not forget that the spa includes a beauty salon!

The resort also hosts a zoo with a horse ranch, rabbits, goats, and parrots! I made friends with tons of cats since the island is filled with them. And you know, animals are humans' best friends.

You might wonder, "How can a resort have a zoo, and who takes care of the animals on a private island?" Well, let me tell you this: the island hosts the biggest and most efficient vet hospital in the Maldives. It is open and accessible to all—not just to those on the island. Operations have already begun, and there are two veterinarians. So, we can confidently say that the animals are well cared for.

If you're traveling as a family and would like to enroll your kids in a football camp, Siyam World is the perfect place. Its reputation has attracted renowned celebrities from around the world who come to train your kids. Leo Ferdinand will soon make an appearance at the resort. The camp has also hosted Totti, Suarez, and Wayne Routledge. Imagine how excited your children will be to meet such amazing football players and get trained by them firsthand!

And since you're in the Maldives, you wouldn't want to miss out on water activities! From snorkeling and diving to jet skiing, Siyam World offers a variety of water adventures. I won't come back without grabbing some souvenirs for my loved ones, so I was thrilled to discover a shopping center in the resort! You can find jewellery, clothes, and souvenirs there. One word: the finest products.
