Sardinia Travel: New Dubai-Olbia Flydubai Route Starting June 15

The Region of Sardinia is gearing up for a significant presence at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024, poised to occur from May 6-9 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This event marks a crucial juncture for Sardinia as it seeks to tap into the burgeoning tourist market in the UAE. The spotlight at this year's fair will be on the newly inaugurated Dubai-Olbia route by flydubai, an Emirates Group company, heralding a new chapter in the island's tourist outreach efforts.

The announcement of this direct flight route, operational every Tuesday and Saturday from June 15 to August 31, 2024, is set to be a focal point of a press conference at ATM. Scheduled for 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 7th, the conference will feature Regional Tourism Councillor Franco Cuccureddu, alongside Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at flydubai, and Olbia Airport's aviation and marketing leaders, Mario Garau and Giovanna Loriga.

Cuccureddu expressed optimism about the new venture, highlighting the importance of the UAE market for Sardinia's tourism. He emphasized the diverse tourist offerings of the island, aiming to cater to the high standards of Emirati and expatriate visitors in the Emirates. The councillor pointed out the strategic timing of the Dubai-Olbia route, especially during the sweltering summer months in the UAE, presenting Sardinia as an ideal retreat with its milder climate and appealing marine landscapes.
