Lufthansa Reintroduces Riyadh-Munich Flights, Expanding Capacity By 50%

Starting October 27, 2025, Lufthansa will reintroduce its flight connection from Riyadh to Munich, enhancing its service offerings to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by approximately 50%. The flights are scheduled three times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, accommodating up to 300 passengers per journey.

This new addition complements Lufthansa's current daily flights from Riyadh to Frankfurt, enriching the travel options for Saudi Arabian travelers. The Munich route will offer early morning departures from Riyadh at 6:25 a.m., arriving in Munich at 10:25 a.m. local time.

Lufthansa Expands Flights from Riyadh to Munich

For the return leg, flights from Munich to Riyadh are planned for Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings, promising passengers a restful night flight back to the Saudi capital, where they will land early in the morning at King Khaled International Airport.

Lufthansa has chosen its Airbus A350-900, one of the most modern and fuel-efficient aircraft in its fleet, to serve this renewed connection. The plane offers 293 seats across various classes — Business, Premium Eco, and Economy — catering to a wide range of preferences and budgets.

With a starting return fare of SAR 1,495 in Economy class, Lufthansa is making travel between Riyadh and Munich more accessible. This service is part of Lufthansa Group Airlines' broader offerings, which include daily flights from Dammam and Riyadh to Frankfurt, weekly flights to Rome, and multiple flights from Jeddah to German cities, rounding up to 25 flights per week to Saudi Arabia during the winter season.

The reintroduction of the Riyadh-Munich route marks a significant milestone in Lufthansa's long-standing relationship with Saudi Arabia. Celebrating over 65 years of operation in the Kingdom, Lufthansa has witnessed and supported the burgeoning demand for flights to Riyadh. The upcoming World Expo 2030 and the FIFA Men's World Cup in 2034, integral parts of the Saudi Vision 2030, are set to further boost this demand, necessitating enhanced air connectivity to the Arabian Peninsula.

Sadiq Mohamed, General Manager Sales Saudi Arabia at Lufthansa Group Airlines, stated, "Munich is one of the most popular destinations in Western Europe for many of our customers. The airport itself is a relaxing, convenient, and beautiful gateway, whether travelers are connecting onward or visiting the city and its stunning surrounding region, known for its castles and picturesque lakes near the Alps."

Munich's airport, a pivotal hub in Lufthansa's network, offers access to around 130 global destinations, making it a gateway for Saudi Arabian travelers to explore Europe, America, and Asia.
