This European Country Is The Most Preferred Holiday Destination For Kuwaiti Travellers

Amid the scenic allure and cultural richness of France, Kuwaiti travellers are increasingly selecting the European nation as their preferred holiday destination, as revealed by the French Ambassador to Kuwait, Claire Le Flécher. France's popularity among Kuwaitis was highlighted in her recent statements, indicating a robust bilateral relationship that extends beyond mere diplomacy to embrace economic and cultural exchanges.

Within the framework of a press conference focused on the update of Schengen visa procedures, Ambassador Le Flécher shared impressive figures that underscore the growing appeal of France. "In 2023, the consular section received almost 42,000 visa applications. For the first 3 months of 2024, almost 8,000 applications have been received," she noted. These numbers not only reflect the enduring friendship between Kuwait and France but also anticipate a significant surge in visa applications, especially with France gearing up to host the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The ambassador's advice to prospective travellers comes at a crucial time. She urged applicants to start the visa application process earlier to navigate the expected increase in demand smoothly. A noteworthy point for applicants is the procedural advice shared by the ambassador: "A visa application can be submitted up to 6 months before the scheduled trip. The applicant must apply first on the France Visas website and then make an appointment on the website of our service provider, Capago."

Further elaborating on the application timeline, she added that approximately six weeks are needed to issue the visa, aside from the waiting period for an appointment, which could extend up to three weeks. Therefore, starting the process at least nine weeks before the planned departure is advisable.

On the financial side of the application process, Aron Yemane, Operation Manager at Capago, detailed the costs involved. Applicants should be prepared to pay a total of 104 euros, encompassing both the Consulate fees (80 euros for a short-stay visa) and the Capago office service fees (24 euros). In an update to the visa sticker, Yemane mentioned that it would now feature a stamp and a QR code, moving away from the traditional signature.

As France prepares to welcome the world for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the anticipation among Kuwaiti travellers is palpable. With the advice from the French ambassador and practical tips on the visa application process, travellers from Kuwait can look forward to experiencing the charm and elegance of France with ease.
