Saudi Arabia: Flynas Adds 3 More UAE Destinations To Its Network Starting September 1
Saudi Arabia's low-cost airline flynas has introduce several new direct routes between Saudi Arabia and the UAE starting in September. This expansion will make flynas the largest carrier serving all four major UAE airports from four Saudi cities. The move aligns with flynas' growth strategy and Saudi Arabia's National Civil Aviation Strategy, which aims to connect the Kingdom with 250 international destinations by 2030.
Currently, flynas operates flights to Dubai International Airport from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Madinah. The airline will soon add three more UAE destinations: Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai, Shaikh Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah International Airport.
New Routes to Enhance Connectivity
Starting September 1, flynas will launch flights from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh to Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai. On the same day, flights from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah will commence to both Shaikh Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah International Airport. Additionally, a new route from Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah to Sharjah International Airport will also begin on September 1.
The following day, September 2, will see another route launched from Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah to Shaikh Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi. This expansion will increase flynas' flight frequency between Saudi Arabia and the UAE to over 20 daily flights.
In July, flynas signed an agreement with Airbus to purchase 160 new aircraft, including 30 wide-body planes. This deal increases their total aircraft orders to 280 planes. The acquisition supports the growth of Saudi Arabia's aviation sector under Vision 2030 and aims to solidify flynas' position among the world's top four low-cost airlines.
Since its inception in 2007, flynas has connected over 70 domestic and international destinations through more than 1500 weekly flights. The airline has transported over 80 million passengers and aims to expand its network to reach 165 destinations as part of Vision 2030's objectives.
This significant expansion positions flynas as the sole Saudi airline serving all major UAE airports. It also supports the Pilgrims Experience Program (PEP), facilitating access to the Two Holy Mosques for pilgrims worldwide.
The strategic growth plan of flynas is encapsulated under their slogan "We connect the world to the Kingdom." This initiative not only enhances connectivity but also contributes significantly towards accommodating 330 million passengers annually by 2030.
The addition of these new routes underscores flynas' commitment to expanding its network and providing greater accessibility for travellers between Saudi Arabia and the UAE. With these developments, flynas continues its journey towards becoming a key player in global aviation while supporting national goals.
