Flydubai Celebrates 15 Years Of Enhancing Global Aviation And Dubai's Economy
On the occasion of its 15th anniversary, flydubai has been spotlighted for its significant achievements and contributions to the aviation industry, as well as to Dubai's socio-economic development. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of flydubai, extended his congratulations to the team, attributing the airline's success to the ambitious vision and leadership of the UAE. Since its inaugural flight to Beirut on 1 June 2009, flydubai has been at the forefront of enhancing Dubai's stature as a global aviation hub.
Under the guidance of Sheikh Ahmed, flydubai has emerged as a pivotal force within the UAE's aviation sector and beyond, embodying the spirit and ambition of Dubai. The airline's growth trajectory has been closely aligned with the government's efforts to bolster Dubai's global aviation presence. Today, the airline boasts a network that spans over 125 destinations across 58 countries, facilitated by a fleet of 87 Boeing 737 aircraft, demonstrating flydubai's commitment to connecting cultures and enabling economic and tourism flows.

flydubai’s journey since its inception has been marked by remarkable achievements, including the establishment of a network that reaches more than 125 destinations worldwide. This expansive network covers regions such as Africa, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Central and South-East Europe, the GCC, the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, and South-East Asia. The development of over 90 new routes that lacked direct air links to Dubai, or were not previously served by a UAE national carrier from Dubai, stands as a testament to flydubai's innovative approach to connecting underserved markets.
One of the key factors behind flydubai's operational success is its efficient single fleet-type, consisting of 87 Boeing 737 aircraft. This includes 29 Next-Generation Boeing 737-800s, 55 Boeing 737 MAX 8s, and three Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft. The strategic focus on a single fleet-type has enabled flydubai to streamline operations and maintenance, ensuring high levels of efficiency and reliability.
Moreover, flydubai's commitment to removing barriers to travel and enhancing connectivity between different cultures has been evident in its impressive passenger carriage figures. Since beginning operations in 2009, flydubai has carried more than 100 million passengers, thereby contributing significantly to the free flow of trade and tourism across its expanding network.
