Emirates Begins Daily Services To Bogotá, Strengthening South American Connections

Emirates has launched its highly-anticipated services to Bogotá, Colombia, expanding its South American network to four destinations and reaching 19 points across the Americas. The daily service, operated with a Boeing 777 aircraft, offers premium passenger services and makes Emirates the first airline to offer first-class services on the popular route between Miami and Bogotá.

The launch of services to Bogotá was celebrated with a ceremony at El Dorado International Airport, attended by a delegation of VIPs, including ambassadors and government officials from both Colombia and the UAE. The Emirates executives on board the inaugural flight led the ceremony upon arrival and showcased the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

Emirates Starts Bogot   Daily Flights

Nabil Sultan, Emirates' EVP Passenger Sales and Country Management, highlighted the importance of Bogotá as a key leisure and business destination and praised the new flights for enhancing trade flows, market access, and investment opportunities between Colombia and the UAE. Sultan also expressed excitement about providing premium services between Miami and Bogotá, including the introduction of First Class on the route.

Sergio Paris Mendoza, Director General of Aeronáutica Civil de Colombia, commented on the significance of the Bogotá-Miami-Dubai route in connecting Colombia to the Middle East for the first time. He expressed gratitude to Emirates for increasing inbound tourism and trade between Colombia and the Middle East.

Emirates' daily flight EK213 departs Dubai at 0215hrs and arrives in Miami at 1005hrs. After a short layover, the flight departs Miami at 1205hrs and arrives in Bogotá at 1455hrs. The return flight, EK214, leaves Bogotá at 1719hrs and arrives in Miami at 2215hrs. After another short layover, the flight departs Miami at 0045hrs the next day and arrives in Dubai at 2300hrs.

Emirates' new daily service to Bogotá provides travellers from Colombia with convenient access to Dubai, as well as seamless connectivity to popular destinations in the Far East, West Asia, and Africa. Thanks to a recent codeshare agreement with Avianca, Emirates customers flying from its network and Dubai via Madrid, Barcelona, or London Heathrow can fly direct to three points in Colombia.

Customers flying with Emirates can enjoy superior levels of comfort onboard, indulge in regionally-inspired dining, and access a wide range of entertainment options. On flights between Miami and Bogotá, special menus and dishes featuring Colombian food and beverages are provided on a complimentary basis. The Boeing 777-300ER aircraft used for the Bogotá-Miami route offers 354 seats across three cabins, including lie-flat seats in First and Business Class.

In addition to passenger services, the new Boeing 777-300ER services will also offer up to 20 tonnes of cargo capacity on each flight, opening up access to more global markets for Colombian exports such as fresh flowers, fruits, vegetables, and other perishable goods. Emirates' services will connect Colombians to the airline's global network of over 140 destinations and offer them a world-class service with industry-leading products.

Passengers travelling between Dubai and Bogotá should meet entry regulations for the United States and hold the required documents, due to immigration procedures in Miami. Colombian and UAE citizens can enjoy visa-free entry for up to 90 days in Dubai and Bogotá, respectively, thanks to reciprocal visa arrangements in place between both countries.
