Emirates To Delight Passengers With Home Bakery Sweets For Eid Al Adha

Eid Al Adha is set to commence on June 16, and Emirates is gearing up to celebrate this festive season with a host of special offerings onboard. Passengers will have the opportunity to indulge in traditional dishes, enjoy the latest Arabic movies and TV series on ice, and savour handmade sweet treats from the renowned Emirati artisan bakers – Home Bakery.

Between June 16 and 19, passengers flying on select routes with Emirates, regardless of their class, will be presented with an Eid sweet treat in a bespoke Emirates Eid gift box. These treats, ranging from pistachio cakes to chewy melt cookies, are handcrafted by the UAE-based Home Bakery. The bakery, a brainchild of Emirati entrepreneur Hind Almulla, has enjoyed over a decade of popularity in Dubai, celebrated for its exquisite desserts and cakes.

Eid Al Adha Treats on Emirates

In Economy Class, passengers will be treated to a variety of Eid favourites. Options include a lamb tagine with apricot, potatoes, couscous, and white sesame seeds; chicken kebab khashkhash in a tomato sauce with peppers and orange rice garnished with almonds; or Daoud basha, Lebanese-style chicken meatballs served with vermicelli rice. For dessert, passengers can enjoy either a pistachio cake with butter cream and pistachio sauce or a coffee cake with chocolate mousse drizzled in Arabica sauce.

Travelers in Premium Economy and Business Class can enjoy dishes such as traditional lamb chermoula in Moroccan spiced sauce with saffron rice, roasted vegetables, and harissa; beef foga - braised beef short ribs in Emirati spices served with steamed rice and potatoes; or prawn morbian with tomatoes, onions, and aromatic rice topped with toasted pine nuts. Desserts feature a pistachio and chocolate nammoura cake or a white chocolate and rahash mousse cake sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds.

First Class passengers have the luxury of choosing from dishes like grilled chicken with sumac lemon dressing, roasted potatoes, and baked vegetables, or lamb madfoon - classic roasted lamb steak in traditional spices with vegetables and fragrant rice. Desserts in First Class include honey and white chocolate cake with crème anglaise or walnut baklawa cake served with kashta. Additionally, the A380 onboard lounge offers Emirati pastries and Arabic coffee to First and Business Class passengers.

Entertainment for Eid on Emirates Ice

For passengers travelling during Eid Al Adha, Emirates' award-winning ice entertainment system offers up to 6,500 channels of on-demand entertainment. This includes a selection of favourites from Shahid and MBC. More than 2000 movies are available, including over 100 Arabic films with new additions like "5 Mohi El Din Abu El Ezz", "Bahebek", "Fadel We Neama", "Hajjan", "Souad", and "Thanya Wahda".

Hollywood movies with Arabic subtitles are also featured, including recent releases like "Bob Marley: One Love", "Land of Bad", "Madame Web", and "The Beekeeper". Additionally, passengers can access 50 channels of Arabic TV series, including "Aa Amal", "Sold Out-Comedy", "Al Uqubat", and several anticipated series from Shahid like "Rose & Layla", "Thanawiyyat Al Naseem", and "Batn El Hout". The entertainment package is rounded off with 15 channels of Arabic podcasts and audiobooks, The Holy Qur'an, and over 500 channels of Arabic music covering a wide range of genres.
