Dubai Airports Witnesses 24% Rise In Supply Management Services With AI-Powered Demand Planning
Dubai Airports has introduced a cutting-edge demand planning and forecasting initiative that is revolutionising supply management operations at Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC).
The improved forecasting has resulted in a 24% increase in service levels, allowing for quicker facility maintenance response times and an improved overall guest experience. Additionally, an 82% reduction in aging work orders ensures prompt attention to maintenance tasks, minimising downtime and maintaining high standards of airport operations.

This innovative approach has improved service levels, streamlined inventory management, and increased operational efficiency throughout the organisation, resulting in an enhanced experience for airport guests.
In the past year, the implementation of a sophisticated Material Requirement Planning (MRP) tool, which utilises artificial intelligence and machine learning, has enabled the inventory team to predict future spare parts consumption more accurately. Consequently, engineering work orders can be executed promptly, leading to faster maintenance responses and minimal disruptions for airport guests.
The MRP tool has boosted forecast accuracy by 30%, facilitating precise inventory planning and reducing excess stock by 12%. This optimisation improves capital utilisation and ensures resources are available when required.
Emmanuel Augustin, VP of Supply Management at Dubai Airports, said: "We leveraged AI and real-time data to streamline our inventory management, improve efficiency and enhance the quality of service we provide to our key customers, both our internal business functions and the millions of guests who travel through the airport. As the first airport in the region and the first government entity in Dubai to implement this system, it underscores our commitment to innovation and operational excellence."
By automating the inventory ordering process, efficiency has been enhanced by 400%, seamlessly integrating purchase requisition creation and significantly reducing manual workloads. The advanced data analytics provided by the MRP tool have also strengthened decision-making processes.
Dubai Airports can now leverage real-time data for improved performance while ensuring compliance with new regulations and maintaining their commitment to operational excellence.
