Direct Flights From Doha To Red Sea International Airport Enhance Global Access For Tourists And Investors

Red Sea Global has partnered with Qatar Airways to introduce direct flights between Red Sea International Airport (RSI) and Hamad International Airport in Doha. The first flight from Doha to this new destination is set for Tuesday. Qatar Airways will offer three weekly flights, enhancing connectivity for tourists, residents, and investors visiting the Red Sea region.

RSI will be entirely powered by renewable energy once the first phase of the Red Sea destination is completed later this year. The airport uses over 760,000 solar panels and features one of the largest energy storage facilities globally. Since its opening in 2023, daa International has managed RSI, playing a significant role in establishing this partnership.

New Direct Flights from Doha to Red Sea Airport

John Pagano, CEO of Red Sea Global, expressed that the collaboration with Qatar Airways is crucial for establishing their destinations as a global hub for luxury and sustainability. He stated: "This partnership with Qatar Airways marks a pivotal step in cementing our destinations’ position as a global hub for luxury and sustainability. With the opening of more hotels, resorts, and extraordinary experiences, these flights will serve as a bridge linking the world to our natural and cultural treasures, while showcasing our unique model of regenerative luxury tourism."

The Red Sea destination aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 initiative. Currently, it hosts guests at five luxury resorts: Six Senses Southern Dunes, St. Regis Red Sea, Nujuma Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Shebara Resort, and Desert Rock Resort. Later this year, Shura Island will open its first resorts out of an intended 11.

Eng. Badr Al-Meer, CEO of Qatar Airways Group, highlighted the benefits for travelers: "With this launch, travelers can now access these unique experiences with the world’s best airline, through our hub and base of operations at Hamad International Airport." This development promises to enhance travel experiences by providing seamless access to unique destinations.

The upcoming developments on Shura Island include an 18-hole golf course named Shura Links Golf Course. Additionally, visitors can look forward to exclusive retail outlets, restaurants, cafés, cultural events, and exceptional lifestyle experiences.

This strategic partnership not only boosts tourism but also showcases innovative approaches to sustainable travel. By connecting Doha with the Red Sea region through direct flights operated by Qatar Airways, both parties aim to attract a diverse range of visitors seeking luxury and cultural richness.
