Baheej Tourism Development Launches First Yanbu City Tourist Project
Baheej Tourism Development Company, through a collaborative effort between ASFAR, a Saudi tourism investment entity owned by PIF, and the Tamimi-AWN Alliance, has initiated a significant development in the waterfront area of the Royal Commission at Yanbu. This inaugural Yanbu project spans 32,000 square meters and is set to introduce three landmark leisure components: a Beach Escape, a Tourist Activation Center, and a Lifestyle Hotel, with a fourth element to be disclosed later. Each component is designed to offer rich, comprehensive, and sustainable tourism experiences.
Yanbu's rich heritage, dating back to the 16th century, is characterized by its unique architectural landmarks and sandy beaches. Baheej aims to transform Yanbu into a celebrated destination that highlights the cultural, historical, and natural splendors of Saudi Arabia, providing unparalleled experiences for its visitors.
Mrs. Nora Al Tamimi, CEO of Baheej, expressed her vision for the project, stating, "We believe that destinations are not just built but discovered, and Baheej's commitment lies in uncovering Saudi Arabia's hidden gems. Our strategic collaborations are aimed at curating unparalleled experiences that showcase Saudi Arabia's rich culture, history, and natural wonders. Yanbu City's contemporary infrastructure, captivating environment, and attractive coastal landscapes make it an exceptional gateway to the Red Sea Riviera. We anticipate the complete unveiling of our destination and its components by the end of 2027."
The development plan for Yanbu is structured in three phases, with a focus on community engagement, sustainability, and minimal environmental impact. Baheej's approach to integrating local culture into the project and their commitment to environmental sustainability are key in making Yanbu an attractive destination for both local and international tourists. This vision aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to cultivate a prosperous economy and vibrant society, by transforming Saudi towns into thriving, sustainable destinations.
Baheej's endeavor in Yanbu represents a strategic step in reshaping and revitalizing urban spaces across the region, with further projects to be announced by the end of the year. This initiative underscores Baheej's dedication to crafting accessible, international-standard tourism experiences that are both contextual and sustainable, marking a transformative journey for Yanbu's hospitality landscape that seamlessly blends community heritage with environmental stewardship.
