World Environment Day: Governor and Celebrities Champion Climate Action
The Carter Road Amphitheatre in Bandra served as the venue for a significant World Environment Day 2026 event, graced by the Hon'ble Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Jishnu Dev Varma. Organized by Asif Bhamla and the Bhamla Foundation, the high-profile assembly focused on #NowForClimate and #BhoomiNamaskar, effectively bridging the gap between climate consciousness and tangible public participation. The event united a diverse group of leaders, artists, and residents to drive environmental progress across the nation.
Attendees from the worlds of cinema, television, music, and public service converged with a singular message: India is ready to transition from mere awareness to concrete environmental action. The evening’s agenda included the debut of a nationwide awareness campaign and a musical anthem tied to #NowForClimate and #BhoomiNamaskar. Additionally, the Hon'ble Governor of Maharashtra presided over the presentation of the Environmental Leadership Awards.
A host of notable figures from the entertainment industry and public life were in attendance, such as Vishal Jethwa, Shankar Mahadevan, Raghav Juyal, Manish Malhotra, Gaur Gopal Das, Jaani, Luke Coutinho, Tony Kakkar, Neha Kakkar, Ravi Dubey, Rupali Ganguly, Somba Nagpal, Arjun Bijlani, Jannat Rahmani, Mannara Chopra, Milind Deora, Sagar Bhatia, Sshura Khan and many more.
