Sevora launches in Kolkata, changing how India shops
Sevora Launches in Kolkata, Introducing India’s First Stylist-Led Fashion Commerce Platform
Sevora, India’s first stylist-led fashion platform, debuts in Kolkata, introducing a new category of ‘fashion as a service’ that combines the convenience of e-commerce with personalised, at-home styling. The brand aims to address a growing gap in fashion retail, where online shopping often lacks expert guidance and leads to high return rates, while offline shopping can be time-consuming and less accessible. The platform brings professional stylists to the centre of the shopping experience, helping consumers make confident and informed fashion choices.
Sevora follows a curated commerce model built through direct partnerships with designer labels and luxury brands. It operates on a hybrid Outright Purchase and Sale-or-Return (SOR) model, enabling the platform to offer a balanced selection while supporting the onboarding of emerging brands.

This model allows stylists to recommend complete looks, creating a more guided and personalised shopping experience. At the same time, the hybrid inventory approach helps the brand to manage inventory efficiently and maintain capital efficiency. Through this structure, Sevora operates as a tech-enabled B2B2C platform connecting brands, stylists, and consumers through a curated, service-led commerce model.
The platform currently operates with a network of professional stylists and offers selections from over 10 premium and designer brands. Kolkata emerged as a natural choice for the brand's launch base, given its strong culture of craftsmanship, tailoring, and personal expression. With consumers who value fit, fabric, and thoughtful fashion choices, the city provides an ideal environment to establish and refine Sevora’s model before expanding to other markets.
While speaking about the launch, Mashum Mollah, Founder, Sevora, said, "Fashion has always been personal, but the shopping experience has become increasingly impersonal. Sevora was created to bring human expertise back to the centre of fashion discovery, while building an ecosystem where stylists are not just service providers, but key value creators.
"Our technology enables stylists to scale their expertise through a data-driven curation engine that incorporates body type and colour analysis, style profiling, a dedicated CRM for stylists, and a lookbook engine for personalised outfit creation. This infrastructure allows us to deliver consistent, scalable, and highly personalised styling experiences."
He added, "Industry estimates suggest that over 30% of online fashion orders in India are returned, largely due to fit issues, quality mismatch, and unguided purchase decisions. Sevora addresses this challenge by enabling more informed and confident choices at the point of discovery."
The platform offers two core services. Its "Buy Now" feature enables customers to purchase outfits with 60-minute express delivery in select PIN codes and same-day or next-day delivery across Kolkata. Its flagship "Try Now" service allows customers to schedule a home trial, where a Sevora stylist visits with up to five handpicked outfits for a 30-minute assisted session, allowing customers to experience the outfits before making a purchase decision.
Following the launch, Sevora plans to introduce its first physical Experience Centre in Kolkata, along with bespoke tailoring services to further strengthen its offering. The company’s immediate priority is to expand its stylist network, refine its technology infrastructure, and stabilise the customer experience before expanding selectively into other cities.
By combining technology, stylist expertise, and curated brand partnerships, Sevora is building a human-centred fashion commerce platform designed to make personalised styling scalable and accessible.
