PaisaOne: Instant loans made simple

India runs on credit it cannot access

India has successfully established world-class payment rails, with 89% of adults now holding financial accounts and UPI facilitating over 20 billion transactions every month. Despite this, only 15% of Indian adults have access to formal credit—a figure significantly lower than the global average of 24%, according to Deloitte's State of Financial Services in India report. While India has mastered payments, the credit gap persists.

The system was built for one kind of borrower

Formal lending in India has traditionally been structured around the salaried employee, requiring a monthly payslip, Form 16, and consistent bank statements. Yet, salaried workers account for only 23.6% of the workforce. The majority—56.2%—are self-employed, including shopkeepers, private practitioners, contractors, traders, and gig workers. This group represents the country's largest earning class, yet they remain the least understood by formal credit systems.

More than 25% of salaried borrowers maintain credit scores of 770 and above, compared to just 14% of self-employed consumers, largely because current scoring models prioritize salary-based stability. Only 14% of MSMEs have access to formal credit, resulting in an estimated ₹25 lakh crore gap; of the 8.7 crore registered MSMEs, only 41% have ever utilized formal credit, as noted in the TransUnion CIBIL and SIDBI's MSME Pulse Report (July 2026).

And the system was built for one kind of city

Credit distribution has historically been centered in metros, even as demand has surged elsewhere. The proportion of credit seekers from non-metro regions has climbed from 55% to 75% in recent years, with inquiries from tier-3 towns rising from 27% to 45%. The demand is nationwide, but the supply has not kept pace.

And the system asked borrowers to do the segregation themselves

Even qualified borrowers have been forced to apply to multiple banks and NBFCs individually, enduring repetitive paperwork, long wait times for decisions, and frequent rejections before having to start the process over. This search consumes the one resource people lack during an emergency: time. Borrowers do not need more options to navigate; they need the right option, tailored to their specific requirements.

PaisaOne is built for Bharat

As a marketplace, PaisaOne empowers the customer with choice. A single application generates personalized offers from over 30 partner banks, NBFCs, and fintechs, covering loan amounts from ₹5,000 to ₹1 crore, effectively condensing a days-long search into a single window. Whether salaried or self-employed, based in a metro or a small town, customers can compare the market and select the best fit rather than settling for the first offer they receive.

The partner network includes major banks such as HDFC Bank, Axis, IndusInd Bank, and IDFC First Bank; established NBFCs like Bajaj Finserv, L&T Finance, Aditya Birla Capital, and Muthoot Finance; and digital-first fintech lenders including CreditMitra, mPokket, Branch, Finnable, CreditSea, and ZapCash, among others.

Paisaone’s founding team maintains that India's credit challenge is a matter of distribution and design rather than demand, and a marketplace model provides the solution. While salaried Indians represent a significant portion of borrowers, the country’s economic landscape extends far beyond that. A platform dedicated to ensuring "Money for EveryOne" is a critical necessity.

Beyond credit, PaisaOne also offers Free Credit Score and Detailed Credit Reports to everyone, helping Indians understand their credit worthiness simply. The same one-window approach extends to insurance and mutual funds through partner institutions, addressing another gap: India's insurance penetration stands at 3.7% of GDP, roughly half the global average.

How PaisaOne works

  • Apply once: A single application captures the customer's profile.
  • Compare offers: Matching, personalised offers from partner banks, NBFCs and fintechs appear side by side.
  • Choose and proceed: The customer selects the best-fit offer and completes the process with that partner.

Loan approval, pricing and terms are determined by the respective partner lender.
